The Midnight Beast are the true epitome of a band who do not take themselves too seriously. Beginning their career on YouTube in 2009 with self-shot videos parodying successful artists (really, who hasn’t heard their Tik-Tok cover?) as well as creating their own comedic content, the band earned a cult following, and after three years had over 48 million hits on their channel alone. Their huge success geared almost entirely through online promotion makes the band one of the best examples of how powerful the Internet is as a tool for self-created fame within the music industry, allowing bands to connect directly with their fans.
