The magic of exploring close to home

In my interview with the Mayor of Media, we starting talking about military service and I mentioned that my dad had served in the Korean War. He asked me if I knew that the first Korean Congress and the push for Korean Independence happened here in Philadelphia and Media, PA and Saturday they were celebrating the reopening of Philip Jaisohn Memorial House in Media, PA. Had no idea but that I’d love to go! He made a call to make sure it was okay for me to come (attendance restrictions). Got the call back and there was room for me!

Now, I have walked pass this residence so many times on my walks - the signage is in Korean so I was always curious as to what it was. Now I know and WOW! What an amazing man!  Seriously, if you have the opportunity, make an appointment and go!

A reminder to be kind to opossums. They put up a good show when confronted- hissing etc but they are harmless. They eat ticks and other pests and they don’t carry rabies. So be kind when you come across one.
