Media and information literacy, also known as MIL, is linked to access of free education, expression and information. It is a ability to analyze, access, and create media. It is for the citizens to realize their rights to freedom of information. Without MIL, you don't have freedom to exclaim your thoughts, you don't have analyzation to media and information. Media and information literacy have been useful every time I get information through social medias. Media and information literacy as a subject thought me to be censorious about the information I get through different social medias and it has also thought to be cautious of the things I share on social media, I should not post or share important detail that could bring me to danger like my personal information that they could use in wrong ways.

Well you know people of the universe, media and Information literacy has been useful nowadays because of the reason that our technology is evolving and improving.. For me, the situation that i can still recall wherein media and information literacy has been useful was when me and my friends needs to do something for our church.. It is when we need to share some informations and announcements regarding to our thanksgiving. So what we did was we wrote those informations in a piece of bondpaper and rewrite it in a WPS or word office and print it out. It is indeed very useful that day because it makes our way easier on how to share or distribute announcements and informations to those persons who are involved in our assembly. It is indeed legit that our technology specially our media nowadays are indeed improving time and time.
Well it is a good thing ofcourse because, it can help us make our things or stuffs more easier than before. Each of us should be greatful of what we have in our present. So yeah, enjoy exploring and continue using our media world people. Godbless us all lovelies.
My recent situation, wherein the media and information literacy is important, is in these times of pandemic. In the times of pandemic, you need to double check information to avoid fake news, especially we are not sure on what happens next after the pandemic. Information is more important now in these trying times.

In my opinion, the most relevant function of media is resource center because in these times nowadays, the times of pandemic, we need some valuable information. That is why I called it "resource center".
Coronavirus symptoms .The viruses can make people sick, usually with a mild to moderate upper respiratory tract illness, similar to a common cold. Coronavirus symptoms include a runny nose, cough, sore throat, possibly a headache and maybe a fever, which can last for a couple of days. For those with a weakened immune system, the elderly and the very young, there's a chance the virus could cause a lower, and much more serious, respiratory tract illness like a pneumonia or bronchitis.
There are a handful of human coronaviruses that are known to be deadly. Middle East respiratory syndrome, also known as the MERS virus, was first reported in the Middle East in 2012 and also causes respiratory problems, but those symptoms are much more severe. Three to four out of every 10 patients infected with MERS died, according to the CDC. Severe acute respiratory syndrome, also known as SARS, is the other coronavirus that can cause more severe symptoms. First identified in the Guangdong province in southern China, according to the WHO, it causes respiratory problems but can also cause diarrhea, fatigue, shortness of breath, respiratory distress and kidney failure. Depending on the patient's age, the death rate with SARS ranged from 0-50% of the cases, with older people being the most vulnerable. The Wuhan coronavirus is currently thought to be more mild than SARS and MERS and takes longer to develop symptoms. ttps://edition.cnn.com/2020/01/20/health/what-is-coronavirus-explained/index.html
How it spreads? Viruses can spread from human contact with animals. Scientists think MERS started in camels, according to the WHO. With SARS, scientists suspected civet cats were to blame. Officials do not yet know what animal may have caused the current outbreak in Wuhan. When it comes to human-to-human transmission of the viruses, often it happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person's secretions, such as droplets in a cough. Depending on how virulent the virus is, a cough, sneeze or handshake could cause exposure. The virus can also be transmitted by touching something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes. Caregivers can sometimes be exposed by handling a patient's waste, according to the CDC .Human-to-human transmission has been confirmed for the Wuhan coronavirus, but experts are now trying to understand who is transmitting it most, who is at most risk and whether transmission is occurring mostly in hospitals or in the community. SARS and MERS were largely transmitted inside hospitals, Horby said. Some people are also considered to be "superspreaders."
Coronavirus treatment There is no specific treatment, but research is underway. Most of the time, symptoms will go away on their own and experts advise seeking care early. If symptoms feel worse than a standard cold, see your doctor. Doctors can relieve symptoms by prescribing a pain or fever medication. The CDC says a room humidifier or a hot shower can help with a sore throat or cough. Drink plenty of fluids, get rest and sleep as much as possible.https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019
My perception of media before the lesson is just all about for communication and literacy. My view for the media now is not just for communication and literacy, but also it is used for entertainment.

In our generation, we have a very common word called "media". But what is media? Media are the main means of mass communication. It influences people widely. My perception of media before the lesson and even after hasn’t drastically changed. During our discussion, although I am aware of every click I made, my curiosity on how media controls and shapes our opinions, thoughts, and actions, appeared in a snap. Media, indeed, has impactful influence to us.
My perception of media before the lesson is just all about for communication and literacy. My view for the media now is not just for communication and literacy, but also it is used for entertainment.
Mass media is simply put "Media or information reaching out to the people or the public". In the days before now we sourced for information, but with mass media system, information is just at our finger tip. Basic perceptions about fashion, technological developments and generally social life has been moved to a whole new dimension since such information could be gasped at ease and even manipulated. A lot of individuals seem not to take in any information they get from the media just like that without proper verification of the given information since the media can be reached through technologically improved gadgets like the pads, android phones and a whole lot. This has changed the perception of the society as these information could have adverse or positive responses from the receiver. and also since there is little or no control on what is been spread to the masses, some times these media systems could cause violence or even emotional.
The mass media and all media in general have a heavy influence and impact on individuals and society, as many people rely on the media as a source of information without even thinking whether it is true or not. That is to say that since the usage of media has evolved, falsehoods are deliberately spread online. For instance, a news report concerning opposing teams conflict many cover and focus only on one side of the story and ignore or fail to mention the other part which will make the viewers pity with one side and neglect the other side. Media may influence opinion, but to what extent and how reliably it is, is really too difficult to say. Some argue that it only influences those susceptible to be influenced, others say that people are only ‘influenced’ when the media agrees with what they already believe, whereas the Nazis famously believed that if you say something often enough (in the media) people will eventually come to believe it, regardless of its connection to the truth.
Media has become a part of our life and it has great influence in our day to day life. They are powerful in the sense that, they even control our thoughts and actions. We decide to buy products on the basis of advertisements. In the modern world we depend upon media to get a clear picture about our society and the rest of the world. Our perception about the world is influenced by the medias. We react to certain news very emotionally. Media is so powerful, which can even create a revolution. Media has affect our society and real life as the growing of new technology nowadays become more powerful. Most people has their own gadget or smartphone, therefore they can get the news in anytime. People become more active in media because of the freedom in giving comment about any issues.
