They're a protective style he could do himself with a lot less up keep than braids.

Does anyone have any ideas of what Dally’s hair would look like for his musical character? His head being shaved just doesn’t feel right for his character to me, but I don’t think it’d be like Johnny’s in the book because I want to keep the fact that he doesn’t grease his hair.

I know that braided styles did exist in the 60s, but considering that Dally canonically doesn’t let anyone hear his hair means that he’d either have to do them himself or not do anything at all.

That being said, I have a fluffy fic idea that involves him having braided hair. Can you see my dilemma.

I thought about trans Soda at work today so here it is. I want to see her, as an old grandpa, on Reddit answering a question like "What's something you'll never tell your family but you dont mind telling strangers online?"

And she'd be like:

"I'm too old now and too stubborn to change anything but I always knew I was a girl. I've always been the most effeminate of my brothers and i was my mother's favorite. If I was 30-40 years younger I would transition but it's too late for me now. I don't want to take away my grandkids' grandpa."

And all the comments would be filled with love and support and a few weeks later she'd edit her post:

"edit: thank you all so much for your kind words. I told my family last month and they were very understanding and supportive. My big brother started crying and hugged me so tight I thought we'd both die. Everyone is so happy to have a gran-gran now :) "

Ok so one singular person asked for this and I must deliver!

Here are some fluffy Steviepop headcanons

i have said this before and I will most certainly say it again but Soda sleeps in between his partners our boy desperately needs the cuddles

9 times out of 10 if they are cuddling in the couch watching TV Steve is sitting up in the middle of the couch with Soda and Evie on different sides of him using his lap as a pillow (most of the time at least one of them falls asleep)

Very often Soda or Evie (girl is strong) ends up carrying Steve to bed because he fell asleep on the couch

Soda and Evie take baths together to calm down after a long day (Steve is always invited but he doesn't like baths)

Steve and Soda take showers together to save time in the mornings though while Evie makes breakfast

They adopt a cat that Sodapop finds in a dumpster behind the DX

This cat is their CHILD

Their favourite dates are going to the drive in because nobody can see the 3 of them together

They just love eachother so much oml

Evie was actually the one who suggested her and Steve dating Soda

After things ended with him and Sandy Evie started to develop feelings for Soda and that's when she noticed how obvious Steve's feelings were

At first she had suggested Steve dating her and Soda separately but pretty soon soda realised that he has too much love to give to only be with Steve and pretty soon Steviepop was born

Absolutel!!!! Sorry it took me so long to answer I didn't get the notification that I had something in my inbox 🙄

Ok so our girl was super close with her mom growing up and would always do her hair and makeup with her mom when she was little

She also told her mom that she was a girl one night when she was 5 but never brought it up again

When she started dating Sandy was when she really started to notice that she wished it was her wearing the pretty dresses and getting picked up to go to the drive in

After Sandy left one day Soda looked at Steve for second and thought "oh shit im just gay" and she thought that that would explain everything

But when she was crying in Steve's arms about feeling like something was just wrong it was Steve who figured it out

So Steve grabbed Soda by the chin and gently asked "what if you're just a girl?" It was like a light bulb went off and she knew that that was it

Steve surprised her the next day with some flowers and a pretty dress for her to try on

She loved it! And very slowly she started to wear that dress (and the others Steve bought her) more and more

Telling her brothers was harder for her, they had just lost their parents and now (in her mind) they're loosing their sister

They don't see it that way at all though

Ponyboy had always wanted a sister and now he has one

As soon as Ponyboy and Darry know she starts dressing like a girl doing her hair and makeup around the house and voice training

The other guys are confused at first but they get it eventually

Steve starts talking her to the west side for dates because people don't know her there so she can wear her dresses and do her hair all pretty
