THINGS THAT PERFORM: COVERING THE BODY (IN THE WORLD) 2/3
walked and sat on the dock for a dramatic look during a break in the rain. i felt more confident here because there were less people so I was less anxious. I like how I almost camouflage with the background in the second photo. it was very hot with the jacket on but I pulled through. I didnt go into any stores because I was honestly afraid of getting kicked out because of my mask . But I think this scenery fits the outfit wel.

1/3 went to a mall to showcase my art and suprisingly did not get a lot of reactions but some women complimented me. I also got some weird stares and a kid got scared by me. I like it though and I might even wear the mask out again.

THINGS THAT PERFORM: COVERING THE BODY (FINAL)
For the final assignment, I recycled an old rug and twine to create a vivid look. I also sewed and glued buttons onto the mask to make it pop more. For the undershirt, I went with more neutral fabrics to make it pop out more. The jacket and shorts were more random. I used hot glue to attach the fabric by twisting it. At first, I was going to use fabric glue but it wouldnt stick. I also thrifted some fabric which I sewed to the collar. I also tied on a laced cape i found in my halloween bins. If I had more time, I wouldve tried to customize some shoes to match with the look.

Here is a Timelapse of me sewing buttons onto the ski mask, took about an hour and then I started to hot glue them.

FRAMING THE BODY: FINAL
Meditation Cube. Adverbs chosen: To modulate, of waves. I made a meditation cube / helmet. I began by chopping up the wood into equal pieces to configure two squares and then i drilled and screwed them together with connecting wooden rods. I wanted to make a piece that is interactive with the body; this helmet is supposed to amplify the sounds heard and create an echo- like effect like seashells to the ears. I spray painted the sides and edges to give it an avant garde feel. I also wrapped wire and rope around the wood to depict sound waves. I chose to photograph it sitting down to depict a more relaxing scene. I played music in the video but this echo cannot be heard unless you put the helmet on yourself. I am happy with the results and I think this is my favorite project yet.
