It really is fascinating if you take it seriously. Like, a planet of artists and pacifists. But you know everyone has a little chrome blaster up their sleeves. An 800 year old carefully carved wooden throne but it’s filled with secret compartments full of weapons, that’s the Naboo in a nutshell.

I fully understand that the preponderance of evidence is that George Lucas put absolutely zero thought into what Naboo’s culture was actually supposed to look like outside of what we see on screen, but as far as unintentionally effective worldbuilding goes, establishing that Naboo a. has a tradition of electing literal children as figurehead rulers of its planetary government, and b. apparently also has a tradition of assassinating these children with sufficient frequency that dressing up a bunch of other children as decoy targets has become standard operating procedure by the time of Padmé Amidala’s reign suggests that maybe the fact that this random backwater is a breeding ground for Sith Lords isn’t as unlikely as it initially appears.

Yay! so happy I got this out before May 4th, I'm really not motivated lately. I've also been working on stuff for my little Clone OC lol changing somethings, so hopefully I'll be producing more stuff before next year.

Seeing other writers on tumblr talk about writing is so validating because all of them are basically:

“I hate writing but I love it more than anything but it’s agony but I have a million stories to put to paper but I barely ever write a word”

And like I’ve always felt this way and I worried it meant I wasn’t supposed to be a writer, which tore me to shreds. But no. That’s just the curse of being one, I guess.
