A distinguished gentleman via phone sketch for a future plan, I’m still trying to simplify the anatomy a little better by looking into what kind of inner contraption would hold the joints to the wing shoulder and the front leg shoulders while also having some of those key muscles (avian pectorals attached to a keel on the front of the chest but doesn’t extent past the forlegs, and also accounting for the muscles that would be attached to said forlegs behind the pectorals. Dactilions are definitely a sort of hexapod) . Also trying to rework the legs a little bit by looking at the muscles on big cats like lions and mid-small sized theropods, big strong bird legs to help get a horse sized animal into the air.

I’m also thinking of turning my osprey inspired dactilion into a recurring little character and making a wacky self-instert character who just travels (more like stowaways) around and studies and draws various fauna from different systems - Steve Irwin style. That way I have a way to motivate myself to draw more often by incorporating a little bit of narrative and character building.

Anyways Dactilion brain blurbs, I’ve been trying to do more research on general anatomy of Birds, pterosaurs, and Monitor Lizards for speculative biology shenanigans for this bird-horse-lion-lizard

The Forelimb is the tricky one, I don’t know how the muscles would go over that rear shoulder since the avian pectorals would need to be pretty big for this thing to be able to fly

Then again it’s a fictional alien so I don’t need to go full accuracy

Mandolorian Season 3 Episode 6 Spoilers

Mando getting his shit rocked for fucking with the super battle droid made my day, I’m also overjoyed to see the B1s again I love them too muCh. With the Clone Wars voice lines toO

I will start ugly crying over these droids.

Not going to lie I got mildly spoiled with the droid scene before I could watch the episode and I was so scared they’d somehow bring up Kalani and what’s left of their little droid group. As far as I know Kalani got them somewhere so that their happy and safe and no one will convince me other wise.

On another note I also am more than interested to see the story of what’s left of the Separatists prior to the Clone Wars if they give us more. Me and my friends are still very intrigued by them, especially after Tales of the Jedi. I’m on my little personal quest of searching for books in local stores hoping there are crumbs somewhere that I can then relay to my friends since they aren’t big readers hshdkfjlkw

Now if only I could find book 2 in the Thrawn: Ascendancy series. I have read book 1 and found 3, but for some reason book 2 just will noT stoCK.

My arm was doing better today and I got to watch an art stream by an inspiration of minE, the urge to draw was too strong so HEY! A quick Dactillion study for some future illustrations!

It's not the cleanest since I'm still trying to figure out how to avoid strain while recovering but it was fun to figure out the anatomy on these dudes

If I am able to finish the model I started in my last post, I think I would use the Osprey texture? Idk I ended up liking it a loT
