Steph inhaled deeply, taking in the energy. At the question, her focus was drew to the table, her heart dropping as she pulled the card. "Oh God, is it bad?" Steph asked, worry evident in her tone.

obsidian and rose quartz sit atop the deck of cards , a steady stream of incense wafting above them . with a deep breath , serena opens her eyes . “ are you ready ? ” she places her hands on the table , gaze locked in on her client . moving the stones to the side , serena shuffles the deck , letting the energy around them take charge . with one swift movement , serena pulls the first card out , “ oh my . ”

❀ you’re not from around here , are you? i figured because you totally just missed { stephanie channing } walking by. don’t tell me you don’t know who { she/her} is/are ? they kind of look like { sophie thatcher} and i could be wrong but i think that they might be { 24} years old right now. they’ve been living in palmview for the last { seven years }. and i don’t know if anyone has ever told them this before but they kind of remind me of { izzie stevens } from { grey’s anatomy }. if you stick around the town long enough you might catch them in action working at { seaglass heights hospital} as a { nurse}. you see this town isn’t really that big of a place, some folks like to call them the { romantic} of palmview! they took a liking to the name too after a while, go figure. oh crap, they must have heard me yapping. they’re coming this way. i got to warn you though, rumor has it they can pretty { naïve } at times. i wouldn’t take it too seriously though, from the times i’ve spoken to them they seemed pretty { compassionate } to me. we see each other all the time since they live in that { 2 bedroom} apartment beside me over in { seaglass heights }. i better leave you to it. it was nice meeting you! ❀ 

BACKGROUND

Steph was born & raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her two half-siblings and their single mother.

Whilst Steph never doubted her mother loved her, she questioned her maternal skills from a young age. From the age of five, Steph learnt to make her own breakfast instead of relying on her mother to remember – same with lunch and dinner, and all meals ended up being cereal.

Steph and her siblings spent a lot of time with their neighbours or mother’s friends, as she was often galivanting with whichever man stole her heart the week before.

When her mother eventually returned, it would always come with a depressive episode. Things wouldn’t work out with the man from the bar two weeks ago, and her earth had shattered.

The inconsistency of her mother caused Steph to step up a lot earlier than she needed to, and she started to look after herself, the house, and her siblings. By the age of nine, she had basic cooking skills and took it upon herself to sort breakfast (mostly cereal, sometimes scrambled eggs), pack lunch, and cook dinner every day. Her mother never thought how odd this role reversal was, she just took pride in her child being so independent.  

From this, Steph developed her baking skills too, and she found a love for the hobby.

Steph never ever resented her mother for the lack of upbringing – it was all Steph knew and excused her mother’s behaviour with the struggles she experienced.

It was Steph’s generosity and empathy that made her the perfect candidate to be a nurse. From the age of twelve, Steph knew that was what she wanted to do.

After high school graduation, Steph was on her way to Palmview University to study nursing, and she was fortunate enough to get a job Seaglass Heights Hospital upon her college graduation.

PERSONALITY

Steph’s heart was definitely a carbon copy of her mother’s, as Steph too found it almost impossible not to fall in love with anyone and everyone. She wore her heart on her sleeve, making everyday situations seem like huge romantic gestures in her head, and then feeling her world crumble when the feelings weren’t reciprocated.

Steph is into her spirituality, another trait inherited straight from her mother. Her mother would talk to her about the power of crystals and energies. ‘The more you put into the world, the more you get back’ – that was one of the reasons Steph became a nurse – helping people would give her good karma for the future.

When she isn’t working, you will most likely find Steph in her kitchen baking treats, which she will take into work for her colleagues to enjoy.
