Wwwwwwelp, this didn’t go according to plan LOL. I was originally gonna not say anything about my sneaky lil idea here, but if anybody looks thru my colors live gallery now, it’s gonna be kinda obvious what I’m doing,,, :-) I’m only putting this on my tumblr, cause it’s far enough away from my ‘official’ Extra Credits account that I’m not breaking any rules about being family friendly

Why “ANU3IS”?

I love Jasper so much, that I’ve wanted to make a lil logo in honor of him for awhile now. No, that’s not a joke. My mascot logo thing is literally Jasper. And anubis is such a fun little edgy name, in a lame early 2000s kinda way <3 I also like the weird names that phonk musicians create for their brand identities, like substituting an X for a vowel, or using numbers and symbols instead of letters, so I straight up stole that idea LOL

Will you post wiz stuff on ANU3IS?

Probably not. I’ve already posted my black and white Dasein painting to NG, and that’s enough for me :]

Are u leaving the wiz community?

Not at all !! The whole point of this is to get me out of a rut I’ve been feeling for awhile now. I’ve been painting wizard101 stuff nonstop for a whole year, and I need to do other stuff in other styles, or I’ll stagnate and go crazy LOL. I’ll still be in EC, and I’ll still be painting Ryan and Jasper and Dasein and everybody else <3

Exactly how ‘adult’ are you planning on making the art on these new accts?

As adult as I want ! That goes all the way up to legit erotica. I’m not ruling out blood and guts either. NG requires appropriate tagging, so u can still filter out what u don’t wanna see

Nah lol. I’m a grownass adult, and that means being responsible about how I put my adult oriented work out there. I know that there are still plenty of kids playing wiz and looking at wiz content online, as well as others who just plain don’t wanna see adult stuff. I’ve toed the line enough already, and it’s time for me to be better about respecting my audience. If I just make another variation of a Steve Brule account, ppl will inevitably come across something they don’t wanna see. Having a second username reduces that risk by a ton. I also don’t plan on promoting my ANU3IS accounts anywhere but right here, so that’ll help too

Why did you choose Newgrounds as your base of operations? Don’t you know about [insert problematic NG creator here]? What about [insert concerning situation here]?

Big secret time. I’ve been around newgrounds longer than any other social media platform. I’m aware of just about every major problematic thing that’s gone down there lolol. But I still think there’s value in a site that doesn’t bend to advertisers who just wanna suck the humanity outta the internet for a few extra bucks.

I think it’s worth ranting about this for a minute too,,, I’m so sick of internet spaces getting censored up the ass. I’m still mad about adpocalypse, but tumblr has a huge left leaning authoritarianism problem. I see tumblr posts on the daily by impressionable teens/early 20s who think they’re being progressive and helpful, when in reality, they’ve been totally duped by the purity culture and thought policing being pushed by corporations/predatory advertisers. The influence those harmful views have on this site’s culture is legit nauseating to me when the reputation is that it’s so minority friendly here. It doesn’t matter that I also don’t wanna look at some of the gross shit out there. But if I’ve gotta explain why eliminating all offensive or harmful stuff from the web is bad, ur following the wrong blog lol

More important than all that bs tho, if u will let me be positive and gush for a minute here,,, :] there’s so many newgrounds creators who have influenced and inspired me longer than wizard101 has even existed. Oney, Egoraptor, Doki, Psychicpebbles, James Lee, LyleRath, Spazkid, AlmightyHans, RicePirate, JohnnyUtah, SrPelo, KawaiSprite, PhantomArcade, HappyHarry, Worthikids, TomaMoto, RubberNinja, Stamper,,, they’ve all had some impact on me, whether they’ve done offensive shit or not (and ALOT of them have lolol) I can’t deny the fact I wouldn’t be creating today without consuming literal years of content from all of them.

I have good memories of going to friends houses after school and browsing NG for new games, me and my friends drawing our favorite NG characters together, talking about how we were all gonna be animators and make stuff as cool as Tarboy or Hellbenders,,, I always regret I never made a NG account when I was younger. I was insecure, and my parents didn’t like me spending so much time drawing lolol. But I have a really deep connection to newgrounds, and even if I’m super late to the party, I wanna be part of it :]
