Two Years...
The boss just celebrated his second birthday. Of course, he celebrated in style with his own McD’s Happy Meal (he also ate the toy... smh) and a banquet beer. Thanks for keeping us on our toes and giving us plenty of good times and laughs.

Changing Seasons...
It’s bike season! I took my last ski laps this past week with Bosley up at Sierra and have officially called ski season. Super psyched on the season ended. Now time for some “brown pow” and time in the saddle.

Yosemite Hangs...
A few weeks back John Broyles called and let me know that he had a camping spot in Yosemite for a long weekend. Knowing I hadn’t been before when the falls are raging, I accepted his invite and made the four hour drive down to the Yosemite valley. Initially we talked about doing a lil hike, relaxing and catching up. That couldn’t have been further from what we ended up doing. After a nice dinner by the fire on Thursday night, we decided we’d do a “jike” or jog-hike. We said let’s go an hour out and an hour back. Well that turned into 17.8 miles of unbelievable trail running. We climbed over 4,300 ft, saw countless waterfalls, got glacier point all to ourselves, traversed a super sketchy top section of 4 mile trail and did so all without water (hey, we didn’t think we’d be running 18 miles haha). Post run we were pretty much useless but we did end up playing some Kubb, going to Yosemite Falls for sunset and hanging out. Milked every second of this trip and can’t wait to go back. Huge thanks to JB for setting it up.

Scared Bear-less...
I try to run 2-3 times a week. Before each run, I stretch, turn on some music and try to “tune-out”. Turns out on a recent run I was a lil too, “tuned-out”. After just getting started and preparing to make a turn onto a main street a car was rapidly flashing it’s lights and waving their arms. Unsure what it was about I continued running and prepared to make my turn onto Keys Blvd. As I turned right a bear was no further than 4-5 feet away. Scared as I was, we both bolted in opposite directions. It’s been a while since I’ve lost my breath, but this sure did it. Bears are all to familiar in this neck of the woods but I’ve never seen one so close before. The rest of the run was un-eventful but, it’s one way to get the run started.

Sierra-at-Cabo…
Spring Vibes are in full effect at Sierra. So are the parks. Here’s a lil video Brian and Kyle produced. It’s the best time of the year to be in the mountains. Sunny park laps, parking lot beers, friends and good times. Party on!

Stunt Puppies...
Side projects are always a blast. This one was super fun. After linking up with a former K2 employee who now works at Croakies, we were able to collaborate and make some custom dog collars for the Sierra Avalanche Dogs. Super psyched on how they turned out. While, Bosley isn’t an official avy dog, he can look like one when he wears his new Croakies x Sierra-at-Tahoe collar.

The Final Chapter...
As some of you may recall Kait underwent surgery for a form of TOS a few months back. They removed a rib and released some of her pec in hopes of increasing blood flow back into her arm. A few weeks after the surgery, Kait began to feel similar symptoms that promoted her to visit the doctor the first time. That being said, she went in for another surgery recently to try and resolve this issue, once and for all! Above you can see her blood flow before (on the left) and after (on the right). It’s insane the difference. Our fingers are crossed that this did the trick. A HUGE thanks to everyone at UC Davis and the Muntz family for being so hospitable and taking care of us.

Miracle March...
So far this month, Tahoe has received over 12 feet of snow and there is more in the forecast. Needless to say, the skiing has been pretty solid. Brian and I have been stacking shots and having fun along the way. The other day, the sun made an appearance so we made the most of it and got a few bangers. Enjoy and props to Brian for nailing the shot*.
* The scary part, these aren’t even the good ones... holding onto those for next seasons advertising.

JBone Visits Tahoe...
My Lawyer, aka Kait’s sister, Jordan visited Kait and I in Tahoe this past weekend. It was amazing to have her in town. Unfortunately, I was stuck working a majority of the time but overall, it was amazing to have her here and hang. She also took a ski lesson and caught on in NO time. She was a natural. She also looked like an Olympian thanks to Maddie hahaha. Maddie happened to have left over swag from the Olympics so obviously, she rocked it in style. Loved having her visit and hope she comes back again soon. Thanks so much Jordan. You’re awesome!

Haircuts...
Turns out that when you have a large dog, such as Bosley, who likes to swim every day that their hair gets matted and then turns into “un-groomable” hair. Kait and I didn’t know this was a thing. However, to correct our mistake, Bosley had to get his hair cut, high and tight. He looks like a teenager and seems to be acting like one too. A bit self-conscious and timid. Whip out a bone though and you’ve got the same old dog. Sorry Bosley, we’ll do our best to “groom” you after each swim, aka every day.

Grandpa Bill’s 90th Birthday...
My grandpa turned 90 this past month. 90 Years Old!!! That’s incredible! To help him celebrate, Kait and I met the rest of our family in Arizona for a quick trip that included a round of golf, desert runs, amazing meals, and time with two of my favorite girls, Peri and Hazel aka Z. They’re growing up way to fast and it’s so fun to spend time with them. It was also great to see my family. It’d been a while since we were all together. Overall, it was an amazing trip to celebrate an amazing man. Happy Birthday Grandpa.

The Ol’ Days...
After a long wait, seems someone put some quarters in the snow machine. It’s been dumping in Tahoe. Has the high pressure system shifted? Will winter stick around? Who knows. All I know is that I’m pumped on it. So is Bosley. Thankful for moisture and good times on snow.

Bluebird Cottage Rd. 2...
This time last year, Kait and I wanted a quick escape. A year later we agreed that we needed to escape yet again and why change a good thing. Located in Oregon House, CA is the bluebird cottage. A quite little tiny house on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Mark and Joanna, the hosts are amazing. Upon our arrival they let us know that they’d be making us homemade bread and muffins during our stay, as well as providing us with fresh milk. It’s these small touches that make the world of a difference and made us come back. It’s truly a little slice of heaven and a great escape. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to return yet again. Good times.

Afternoon Walks...
Sometimes I have to pinch myself that this is real life. This photo is from a casual afternoon walk that Kait and I do once or twice a week. Hard to believe this is our “normal”. I believe beauty is all around us, lucky for us we just have to sit down and take it in.

Trivia Champions...
Every Monday the South Lake Brewing Company holds trivia night. The past two weeks we’ve attended and come out victorious. Needless to say, it’s a blast. Plus, you get 10% off your tab. WIN! If you’re looking for a fun Monday night activity in Tahoe, look no further. Oh and best of luck beating the OTrivia Newton John team.

Reality...
Hard to believe my last post was me skiing in knee deep powder. Fast forward to today and after two weeks of 60 degree weather, it’s a different story. This winter has been brutal. While, mother nature hasn’t been cooperating, we’re making the most of it. Even Olympian Maddie Bowman is getting in on the fun. Tutu’s and ski blades are obviously the best way to train for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Keep doing those snow dances.

Such a tease...
After an extremely rough winter, or lack there of. We received 17″ overnight and we’re greeted with a proper powder day. While it didn’t last long and looks like temps are on the rise yet again, we’ll take whatever we can get this season. Turns like the one above, captured by Matt Bombino, make it all worth it. It’s like a drug, once you make that one turn, you can’t think about anything else but making more of them. Fingers crossed for a wet February and Miracle March.
