⌆ a nervous tic or habit they do
I’d imagine if he were ever to get into a situation where he was legitimately nervous, he’d be a real fiddler. Playing with his hands or tools, combing his fingers through his hair, rocking from side to side; just generally being unable to sit still. He’ll probably try to joke himself out of it, too, if the nervousness is due to someone else, or if it’s because of his surroundings or just the situation he’s in, he might talk to himself to try and calm down.

"You'd better believe they exist!" He exclaimed, "And sometimes they even come out here, too; likely to extinguish their flames from the sunlight, I'd expect. Although really, them zombies're the least'a your worries. no, the reral thorns in my side'd be the Creepers; hissing green creatures that'll blow you right up- like ka-BOOM!" Steve acted out the onomatopoeia, spreading out his arms to imitate an explosion upon the second syllable of the sound. "Not very fun, I can tell you right now- 'specially if it's near somethin' I'm tryin' to build!"
The man shook his head. "Ah, but enough about that. What were those things you said? Spider crabs?" He grinned once more. "Boy, you sure seem to got a lotta creatures in the waters where you're from, uh..." Steve scratched his head, realizing that they hadn't sctually been properly introduced as of yet. "Say, you wouldn't happen to have a name, would'ja, bud? Or is that 'Great White' what I'm supposed'ta be callin' ya?'"

AGiftedGlider
It was the start of a new day, and Steve got up at the crack of dawn, as per usual. The standard fast paced lifestyle for him was, for today, to take a backseat to some more calming, leisurely activities- that is to say, dealing with work on the farm, instead of risking life and limb down in a cave or dungeon. Hopping out of his bed, it was straight outside for him... after a quick breakfast, of course.
Stepping outside, he inhaled deeply of the crisp, clean air that greeted him; there was a certain moisture to it today, and combined with the glassy dew on the tips of the grass, he dared say it had just recently stopped raining. This was good; the crops enjoyed the rain. The man went out to the fields, getting down on the dirt as he pulled up the ripened carrots and potatoes, giving them each a quick rinse in the channel of water which they drew from. After he finished, it was off to tend to the animals...
Or, perhaps not. He stopped as soon as he saw it: a large hole in the fence- and ground beneath it- no doubt left there by a previously threatened creeper. And just as well, the animals that had been penned inside had seen to it to wander off on their own. A short sigh was really all he could do, before gathering up some leads from a chest inside, and trekking out to gather up a new herd.
After a few hours of searching, he had finally gathered up some animals of different varieties, cows, pigs, chickens and sheep, and was on his way home, guiding them all back home by the ropes he lead them by. The shortest route, according to his compass, lead through a dense forest- one he opted to go around instead, seeing as how the darkness inside was one he knew drew in monsters. However, as he lead his pack of livestock around the wooded area, he noted an animal of an entirely different variety resting beneath one of the outer trees; one of golden fur and large tail. Although, with the clothing this animal wore, he took a guess that this one wasn't at all feral.
"Hey there, friend." The large man called, in a voice deep and gentle as he tried not to attract the attention of any creatures inside. "Pardon my intrudin', but that might not be the best place for a nap."

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." He assured the other with a nod, though his expression showed no signs of worry. "Just so y'know, though, when I said 'monsters' bein' out to get me, I wasn't talkin' about you bein' a threat; I mean I got actual monsters up on shore." He motioned back to land with a tilt of his head. "Skeletons, zombies, the whole lot. You ever seen a spider this big?" the man asked, outstretching his arms to their full length, and laughed. "I got 'em after me every night. No offense or nothin', but I don't scare too easy!"
Bruce may have been big, but Steve didn't see him as a monster likt the creatures on land. He was a thinking, speaking, and, to top it off, non-meat eating creature. Even with his size and many teeth, Steve wasn't afraid- and to be honest, he couldn't remember the last time he WAS afraid, at least of another living creature. And either way, even if this shark did become aggressive, Steve was still pretty sure he would still be able to at least fend him off.

Zone number one, eh? The name had as little life to it as the world it referred to, save for the bustling crowd that seemed to live in it, of course- if you could even call being here 'living', that is. He did notice all the mutterings and whispers of said crowd, however, as well as their various points and motions to his sword. In response, he chose to simply put it away, hoping that doing so would cause less of a commotion. "Well, thank you kindly, friend." He offered with a nod.
With that, he was about to leave- that is, until he noticed the banner that hung above the man's head. A merchant, was he? Plus, he was selling meat- and at a discount, no less! He did wonder about what type of quality meats he could find in a place such as this, but considering he's willingly eaten chunks of rotten flesh before, he supposed this would be worth giving a shot. Besides, after that trip through the Nether, he was practically starving!
"Uh, say, friend," He began, turning back to the merchant. "What kinds'a meat've you got for sale here?"
Pertimefactus
[✖]     business had been absolutely booming during that particular                    outing to the first zone, most likely due to the sale that had a                    discount on all meats for…
           yep, you guessed it.
                                          an absolutely drastic
                                          1 0 P E R C E N T ! !
drop in price for all meats.
zacharie is sniggering away with j o y at all the credits he’s getting              from his business. elsens were willing to flock to him like birds                  whenever he had a sale, no matter how low the price or how                    creeped out they were by him. his backpack is bulging with the                     huge amount of currency contained inside.
though, he notices a specific figure that
stands out from all the others crowded around him. more importantly, they’re driving away all of his customers! what a disaster. he speaks with no hint of emotion to his voice, however, under the mask, he has a rather irritated expression.

Pertimefactus
Steve stepped out of his obsidian portal into an almost dystopian land of mostly foreign elements. The ocean was certainly not water, the air was thick and grey, and the ground beneath his feet greeted him with a metallic clank, indicating that at least metal was a familiar portion of this world. Covering his mouth with his arm to help filter out some of the foreign particles as he broke down the frame of volcanic glass to prevent any of the creatures from the other side escaping to this one, the thought did cross his mind that perhaps even they might find this world bleak compared to theirs and choose to leave just as soon as arriving.
After accomplishing the obligatory task, he turned to more adequately asses his surroundings. The citizens all seemed the same, both in their apparel and their apparent choice to avoid him. Perhaps he was somewhat off putting to them, in his brightly colored armor of gold- only so chosen due to a massive army of pigmen that had so graciously 'donated' fragments of the substance to him whilst destroying his previous suit of iron- and his sword of rugged stone, which, to be fair, may have given them perfect reason to stay away.
In any case, as he wandered the strange landscape, all the while trying to avoid inhaling too much of this atmosphere, which to lungs so used to the crisp clean air of an unindustrialized world, seemed almost like poison, he spotted not a single soul that seemed the least bit interested in any sort of interaction whatsoever. This continued until- aha! A single outlier, free of suit and tie and monotony as all the others seemed not to mind. The armored man approached the masked fellow, the other persons scattering out of his way as he did, and lowered his arm to speak.
"Excuse me friend, could you- cough- could you tell me where I am?"

Kelp? Seaweed? Dolphins? It was clear by now that this shark, this Great White, was from another world entirely. It was nothing new, of course- although still far from frequent- for people, or creatures, to sometimes appear in the Overworld, although Steve never knew quite how or why. Likely magic, he supposed, just as was the explanation of so many other strange happenings here; it was never really something he chose to question.
"Well I can certainly appreciate that." He said with a grin of his own. "Too many monsters up on land after my hide already!" The man laughed. "But I can't say any'a those things could be found out here; kinda sounds like seaweed'd be a kind'a plant though, right?" He asked, tapping his chin. "Only water related plants I know of that can be ate would be sugarcane, although even that's up on the shore, not in the water..."
