Micaela Lattanzio’s “Fragmenta.”
Brand new work from Italian artist Micaela Lattanzio’s (Previously on Supersonic Art) ongoing and compelling series of sculptures entitled “Fragmenta.”
“Fragmenta” began as a series in 2013 as Lattanzio focused her artwork onto the fragmentation of identity. Each floating, disintegrating portrait is the result of painstaking manual cutting and transforming it into an intricate mosaic. Through this process and the final image, Lattanzio seeks to deconstruct the ideal of portraiture as a reflection of contemporary society.
