The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Amini’s murder by the regime in his songs.

Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, “Iranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. in light of police across the country cracking down on pro palestine protests with brutal force, it feels like a great time to remind everyone to shut the fuck up around cops. don't make small talk, dont act friendly, don't fucking engage with them!! if you are arrested DO NOT speak without a lawyer present. protest organizers, get into contact with local pro bono lawyers who can be there for your arrested comrades. no matter what, if cops are there, shut the fuck up unless you are actively doing a protest chant. dont tell cops why you were there, dont tell them if you're affiliated with the school you may be protesting at, dont tell them if you came there with anyone, dont tell them anything!!!

April 20, 2024. protests outside the Sde Teiman detention center in israel, where at least 40 Palestinian detainees have been tortured to death in the past six months. Sde Teiman was established shortly after October 7th, as an interrogation site for suspected Hamas members abducted from Gaza. Following new procedures of care that were passed by the israeli health ministry in December 2023, detainees in the facility and handcuffed 24 hours a day as a rule, in violation of israeli law and international law. In the beginning of April, a doctor who visited the Sde Teiman facility wrote an open letter about the conditions he witnessed.

“The Sde Teiman facility is supposed to operate according to the Incarceration of Unlawful Combatants Law amended last December. In the letter, the doctor claims that the facility does not comply with the law's conditions, including the right to medical treatment and equipment in accordance with detainees' medical condition, their right to hygienic conditions and adequate sleeping arrangements that don't endanger their health or harm their dignity. They also have the right to exercise outside for two hours a day.

In his letter, the doctor asserted that detainees don't receive appropriate care, even when they are moved to a hospital: ‘No patient who was referred to a hospital has remained there for more than a few hours. It happens that patients after major operations, such as abdominal surgeries for intestinal resections, are brought back after about an hour of post-op observation during recovery to the Sde Teiman medical facility, which is staffed most of the day by a single doctor, accompanied by a nursing team, some with no more than medic training.’
