I have a complicated relationship with time and age ⌛️

Most of the time, I feel like I’m 17, 23, 27, 32, 35, 66, and 900 years old all at once.

I feel both younger and older than everyone in the room.

The way people say, "I’m too old to wear/do this," has always perplexed me 🤔

How do you even know when you’re too old for something?

It feels like some kind of common neurotypical knowledge that I never picked up.

So yeah, I’m thirty-something, and there’s one thing I know for sure — it’s never too late if you’re still breathing.

It’s not too late to start something new; it’s never too late to change everything.

You’re not too old to learn a new skill or a new language.

All those dreams you’ve had since childhood — it’s never too late for them either ❤️‍🩹

Time is not a friend, time is not an enemy — it’s just time, and what we do with it.

I just felt like sketching our beloved captain, Stede Bonnet 💛🏴‍☠️✨️

Stede is touched by the way Edward and Izzy defended his “honor” when a pirate made fun of his outfit in a tavern, but he insists there is no need to do that every single time.

Stede: That was very sweet, my darlings, but if you wanted to avenge me, so to speak, you would have to fight my whole hometown and it would take ages, LOL

Stede then explains how everybody used to bully him when he was young, trying to make it sound amusing and not that important.

Izzy: *eye twitches*

Edward: *roars* How dare them! I’ll crush those fuckers! I’ll make them pay!

Stede: Izzy, love, can you explain to Ed that it’s not neces-

Izzy: What’s the name of the town exactly? *eye twitches again*

Edward: C’mon Iz, let’s plan a siege! We’ll burn that whole place down!

(Eventually Stede manages to convince them both that no, it’s not necessary and anyway his children still live there so there won’t be any siege or any burning happening. He appreciates the gesture, though and tells them so. Many times.)
