like they don't want to admit that a lot of people in the United States genuinely love the message of hatred, authoritarianism, and oppression. Fascism is on the rise globally, it's not a uniquely American problem and it's on the rise because people want it. because democracy is grunt work, it's slow, and we live in an instant gratification society that thinks four years is more than enough time to fix and change everything

the kind of change the United States needs is grueling, consistent, constant work, and you can't just flip a "messaging" switch and undo systems of oppression, changing cultural attitudes, educational curricula. It's long term work.

It's like brushing your teeth. Doing it consistently doesn't guarantee you don't have problems, but if you DON'T do it, you'll DEFINITELY HAVE BAD PROBLEMS.

for the terminally stupid; if trump had gotten congressional approval then there would have been intelligence, there would have been investigations, there would be a paper trail so that if the decision turned out to be wrong; there would be a new rule so it would not happen a second time as well as knowing who had failed at their job.

the real issue isn't that trump went to war with iran. the issue is that he went to war based upon a decision tree that we will never know. he listened to people who will never be held accountable. in order to make his decision he had to side step every system implemented so that this would not happen. There are a group of people willing to sacrifice the lives of multiple countries for a purpose we don't know, we can only hope it is for money, and we have no way to work against them until we know who they are.

those of us who humanized people and were worried about war crimes voted against trump. those of you who played gotcha with the election need to shut the fuck up. people were going to get killed because that is what republicans do. if you were okay with that then shut the fuck up. stop pretending that you care about killed people now that you have to see the bodies. the rest of us cared before the election; back when people like you said we were just trying to scare people. shut the fuck up with your fake compassion. this is what you voted for.

Honestly, one of the biggest frustrations with ACAB etc is the lack of other options. I absolutely avoid calling the police, but at the same time, there are things where we just don't have anyone else to call.

An old coworker was relentlessly hounded at work because she admitted calling 911 and having a squad car sent because someone was stalking her on her way home from work and threatening her. People were so mad that she called the cops, but none of the Fuck 12 Anarchists were offering to walk her home.

There was briefly a "AnarchoCommunist Queer Security/Safety Cooperative" who you could call... if they had anyone taking calls at the moment and if any of them were available/willing to come. If not, I guess just be willing to get jumped for their moral superiority?
