Plant magic: Sweetgum.

Dried seedpods, commonly refered to as Witches’ Balls, Witches’ Burrs, and Sticker Balls, are protective and can be “loaded” by sprinkling herbs into the holes and then sealing with wax for warding. The dried seedpods can also be placed on windowsills or in corners of the home to act as protective elements to set or reinforce wards. The pods can also be used in witches bottles to protect the home and prevent theft. Witches’ burrs can also be used for commanding and compelling. A photo of the target or a name paper can be wrapped around the spikes of the seedpod, intended to cause them anguish until they complete commands. Burrs can also be added to hex jars.

Leaves. Sweetgum leaves are shaped like stars and can be pressed and used for bookmarks. They’re protective and can be used like bayleaves in spells: inscribe something on the leaf and burn it to assist manifestation.

Gum Resin. The resin the tree exudes, called Stryax Resin, can be used much like benzoin. If you can find a tree with globs of hardened sap from past injuries it can be saved and used as purification incense or as an offering. The gum is known to have a sweet taste and is mildly anti inflammatory. Can be added to washes, colognes and mixtures to provide protection, especially from spirits, healing, or luck.

Depression

I don’t know if real people even read the shit i posted, but i feel better knowing i can post things here for only strangers to read no one who is biased one way or another. yesterday i learned that my mind has essentially blocked all emotional responses to everything, i was diagnosed with bipolar and depression in November and they started me on a new medication that is supposed to stabilize my mood.  well it failed as is with most meds.  the problem we found is that due to dramatic experiences in life, my subconscious thought it better if i don’t respond at all to life.  this is a problem for me because i have a son who im trying to raise and you cant raise a child without being able to feel.  So i have to force myself to feel emotions that are linked to the dramatic experiences so i can unlock my emotions completely.  go psycho therapy

Arlinn Kord is a tormented werewolf, originally from Avabruck, who has a gift unique among her kind: she is a Planeswalker.

Arlinn was a teenager when the howls of the Mondronen werewolf pack summoned her into the forest and she completed her First Hunt. She always fought against the change, and used Avacynian charms, prayers, and fasting to ward it off as much as possible. She even studied magic in the church, becoming an Archmage of Goldnight while successfully hiding her curse from her teachers and mentors—until the night came when she couldn’t contain the change any longer and she killed several hierarchs before her spark ignited and she found herself rampaging through the woods of another plane.

To her horror, she regained her senses in the morning—but not her human form. For better or worse, the experience of retaining her human mind in wolf form gave her a new appreciation for the wild spirit that shared her body. The only way she could return to her human form was to planeswalk back to Innistrad, but now she finds that she can control the transformation, in both directions, with relative ease. And though she is still horrified by the slaughter she wrought in the church, she is embracing the power she wields in wolf form as a natural complement to her magic.

Above all else, Arlinn is desperate to ensure the survival of her kind. She has come to think of herself as part of the pack. And in a world where Avacyn either cursemuted or killed hundreds of werewolves, and where the angel’s church is launching a new inquisition more terrifying than anything they’ve done before, Arlinn fears that if she does not act, the lycanthropes of Innistrad could meet a very real and permanent end very soon.

Life & Death

The eternal lovers.  One always seeking the other.  For me Death is male, he is always the villain, Always blamed and hated for keeping the balance in the world, but never jealous of his counterpart.  For her part is so much worse.  For she must watch every child be taken by her lover, and never see anything in return.  A mother who always suffers the loss of a child.  It may seem a solemn story but it is centuries old, and a cycle to never be broken.

Ok so I'll start by saying that I quite enjoy the series some of the wacky stuff is pretty entertaining, BUT what drives me nuts is the terrible butchering of all the rules pokemon games make you learn. For example how the fuck does a bellsprout not take damage to thunder that's some shit

The Elementarium, by Isobel Winter  

What is it?

The Elementarium is a script based on the European alphabet that I created about three years ago.

What is it for?

Initially I created The Elementarium as a way to write down spells, sigils, and other magical words that had anything to do with the elements, or that I wanted to embellish with the power of the elements. These days I use it for all magical purposes. Is especially effective as protection and spell charms.

Who is it for? Can I use it?

Anyone who wants to use it! I’m opening it up to the wider public because I feel that they would benefit from a magical script to use that they know was written by a witch, instead of using one in which they are unsure of the origins or rules. I’d love to see what you use it for; please post a picture and tag me in it, or tag it as #elementarium.

Why use it?

Unlike conventional linguistic scripts, this one was invented specifically with magic in mind. It automatically has a deeper connection to your inner energy. I created the script by meditating and then writing symbols down with my eyes closed, visualising how they would fit into each letter.

A letter from my language isn’t on the script, what should I do?

Send me an ask telling me which letter this is and I will create it! When I wrote it I was learning Norwegian and Swedish, hence why those letters are present. But I truly believe that everyone should be able to write magically in their own language, so please don’t be afraid to send me a request.

Can I get a tattoo of it?

Of course! I have a friend who did so and it looks great, I’m waiting on her to send me a picture so I can show you all. Just make sure you don’t mess up how you’ve written it down; I don’t want to be blamed for a shitty design.

Pottermore Quiz

As requested by a couple of people, here is the copy of the actual Pottermore quiz that will break down how much of each house you identify with at the end of the quiz. And before you say “omg, that equals to more than a hundred percent!” this quiz works a little differently than most. Instead of questions that are like “"this" answer is the Slytherin one and “this” answer is the clearly Hufflepuff one” I believe that the questions work more like “this option gets you 5 points for Slytherin, this one gets you 4, this one gets you 3 to add up at the end” etc for all the houses, so they’re like “how much is this a _blank house_ thing to do” which is probably a more accurate representation than the former option.

Example: My results were 82% Slytherin and 79% Ravenclaw, so I’d probably be one of the ones that the sorting hat took my preference into account, since I’m almost equally both. ;)
