i wish i could let everything go and start on a fresh piece of paper. because this one? this one's terrible. it's full of colour and scribbles and random stickers and rips and tears and burns and even other pieces of material that have been glued on with shitty school glue. some materials even fall off sometimes, so i have to glue them back and make sure they stay. thats what i feel like.

my peers say it's experience, that it's good to have a colourful piece of paper, it's great to have tried this many strategies. i disagree.

sometimes i take my paper out, and i can't help but compare my piece to others. theirs has a colour scheme at least. theirs has unique materials but they're neat and organised instead of pressed on haphazardly like mine.

occasionally, i find somebody without a colour scheme either, or someone who's experimented, but they turn a blind eye because my paper is too cluttered. there's too much to focus on and it overwhelms them.

I go home after that. I go home and start the vicious cycle of trying to make my paper look more presentable for others, but all i do is mess it up more instead.

i end up with even more rips because I've tried to fix it by rubbing some scribbles out but i press too hard and the paper splits. or i smudge some paint in the process that isn't done drying and taint some of the materials with it instead. maybe I'll try and take a sticker off but because of how i stuck it on, more stickers peel off because they were layered. or I'll try and take one off and the paper comes with it.

i always have the back of the paper to decorate too, but nobody's ever seen that side. everyone always checks the front first. so I've never bothered.
