I don't really go here any more but I heard Gundam characters were beating Supernatural characters in a ship poll and got here as soon as I could to join in for the Gundam characters
Hey, I don't usually do these make your own, closed species kind of deals but I have been trundling along with Succubuns with my other half, and right now they're doing a raffle for their first anniversary.
I should mention they operate a 21+ policy due to Adult Content, so young people, close your eyes.
I'm hoping to win one of the items that gives you another design-your-own-character slot. I've never really been into winning or buying other people's designs. If I happen to win the grand prize of the fellow up above with his nipple window, I promise to take good care of him, and get him a t-shirt from a local fast food joint.
It has been forever and a day since I built a super sentai minipla. It's also been several years since Kiramager. I'm not sure what this mecha is called so I'll have to look it up. But I was in a robot dinosaur mood, and this robot dinosaur is also a train with a chainsaw, so with the taste of three-year-old ramune candy in my mouth, I set about building Smog Jouki and this other train thing that combines with it to form this robot thing.
King Express! Thank you, Google.
I think it was fun how every time the Kiramagers wanted to form this robot, they had to hijack Smog Jouki off the villains, often without waiting for them to get out of it. Good times.
My old Pit Slaves gang from previous editions of Necromunda have tasted the forbidden snacks and been reborn as a Corpse Grinder cult. The obnoxiously massive bionic weapon arms look right at home on the Corpse Grinder bodies. I used a lot of parts from the old gang, and also kept their old colour scheme of safety-yellow clothes and bronze armour.
I wanted a big fella for the leader so a Khorne Bloodbound model found his way in there too. Whack a couple of chainaxes on him and he's right at home.
Can't let this pass without shouting out some of my favourite toku suit designs- the Shadow Line from Toqger
The generals are ostentatious and gothic (and I guess wound up getting used for Power Rangers? Shame they altered Baron Nero, though), the mooks are really sleek and neat- just enough detail to make it work- and each monster of the week is based on a mundane object, incorporated creatively into a humanoid suit.
Anyway: shout-out to the people who design the suits for various monsters, aliens, robots, and other creatures, especially in tokusatsu.
Personally, I'd like to give a special shout-out to the people who made the suits for the Fangires in Kamen Rider Kiva (2008). These suits have a lot of work put into the design and motifs: each one is based off a different creature, but they all have a stained-glass pattern with a hidden bird motif. Here are a few of my favourites:
Anyway, it would be fun if people added to this post with their favourite suit designs. It doesn't have to necessarily be from a typical "toku" show, as long as it's a practical suit instead of cgi. After all, a lot of work goes into making these!
