 she  sighs  when  he  says  he  can’t  stay  long.  she  has  all  the  time  in  the  world,  and  wishes  to  spend  it  with  him.  she  knows  he  has  obligations,  though.  things  he’s  expected  to  do.  she’s  proud  of  him  for  how  he  handles  all  of  that.  she  just  misses  him  sometimes.  she  can’t  help  but  love  him.  ❝  i  want  you  here  with  me,  too,  but  i  understand.  especially  since  you  can’t  just  tell  them  you  need  a  break  to  cuddle  your  needy,  blood-sucking  girlfriend.  that  wouldn’t  go  over  very  well  at  all,  would  it?  ❞  she  asks,  obvious  sarcasm  dripping  from  dulcet  tones.

 edythe  was  having  the  best  day  of  her  life.  she  was  getting  to  marry  the  man  she  loved  most  in  this  world,  and  she  had  her  family  by  her  side.  things  were  falling  perfectly  into  place.  her  life  was  as  she  had  always  hoped  it  would  be:  filled  with  happiness.  having  rosalie  by  her  side  made  it  all  the  better.  she  knew  her  sister  wasn't  the  biggest  fan  of  the  wolves,  and  she  understood.  it  was  in  their  blood,  or  lack  thereof.  but  putting  that  aside  because  of  her  love  for  her  sister.  oh,  how  edythe  loved  her.  ❝  i  am  so  happy,  so  thankful,  for  you.  thank  you  for  being  with  me,  for  being  my  matron  of  honor,  and  being  my  sister.  you  have  emmett,  and  now  i've  found  jake,  and  i  get  to  be  as  happy  as  you  are.  we're  lucky,  rosie.  ❞

was i STRONG ENOUGH? was i BRAVE ENOUGH? how hard could i shove the ROUGH STONE into my BODY? would this buy seth ENOUGH TIME to get back on his feet? would he heal FAST ENOUGH for MY SACRIFICE to do him any good? i raked the point of the shard up my arm, yanking my thick sweater back to EXPOSE THE SKIN, and then PRESSED THE SHARP TIP to the CREASE AT MY ELBOW. i already had a LONG SCAR there from my last birthday. that night, my flowing blood had been enough to catch EVERY VAMPIRE’S ATTENTION, to freeze them ALL IN PLACE FOR AN INSTANT. i prayed it would work that way again. i steeled myself and sucked in one deep breath. // est. 2.11.17. penned by hales.

in a world where beau truly doesn’t make it, what else is edythe supposed to do but flee forks, and go off to try and mend a broken heart? heading for new york city, she thinks she may be able to find distraction in a large city, but what she really finds is disaster. walking back to the little apartment she’s renting, edythe stumbles upon the thoughts of a man about to attack an innocent woman, and intervenes, killing the man in the process, and almost starting a war.
