I don't think enough people are talking about what Carlos said in an interview he gave yesterday, about how Benítez views the more conservative/reactionary cardinals as scared, angry children that just need someone to give them certainty and reassurance, that's why he was so patient and yet firm with Tedesco, he saw a frightened child that needed guidance, that's why he was the best choice to be pope btw, because he saw the people with views that contradict his own not as enemies, but as children he needed to guide, not with arrogance but with mercy, patience and love 🤧
Also, I love Carlos even more for adding this depth to Benítez, a character that's already so amazing got even more interesting after what he said

I love how Yoda’s first inclination when Luke crashes into his self imposed exile is to just absolutely fuck with him. He proceeds to rummage through his shit and pester him and beat his droid with a stick and talk nonsense while stealing his food and when Luke is understandably testy with him Yoda turns to Obi-Wan’s force ghost and goes this fuck ass kid is an impatient bitch just like his dad.

Public health didn’t die when RFK Jr. became Trump’s Health Secretary. It was already on life support, hamstrung by a siege mentality, turf wars, and an erosion of its connection to science.
[...]
In 1846, maternal deaths at the Vienna General Hospital were dramatically higher in the doctors’ ward than the midwives’ ward. The difference was staggering: 11.4 per cent of patients seen by doctors died, compared to just 2.7 per cent of those seen by midwives. Hungarian physician Ignaz Semmelweis noticed that doctors were going directly from autopsies to deliveries without washing their hands. He introduced a handwashing protocol. The next year, mortality fell to just 1.27 per cent. The evidence was clear. But Semmelweis was ridiculed and rejected by the medical establishment of his time. His career, and then his mental health, suffered greatly. In 1865, he was committed to an asylum. He was beaten to death by attendants while trying to escape. His story isn’t a metaphor. It’s a mirror. Ignoring inconvenient scientific truths is a longstanding, dangerous pattern. So, why is medicine still like this? The answer lies in structural flaws in medical decision-making.
[...]
Five years ago, on April 3, 2020, the world’s top bioaerosol scientists warned the WHO that COVID was transmitted in infectious aerosols, tiny particles that drift in the air like smoke. They were right. And they were shouted down. The WHO’s guidance for managing the novel pathogen, SARS-CoV-2, rejected the latest science along with lessons learned from mistakes made twenty years earlier with SARS-CoV-1. In an instant, decades of evidence were brushed aside. The refusal to “follow the science” on airborne transmission may well be one of the deadliest mistakes ever made. It wasted our best chance to stop the pandemic before it got started. Excess deaths are already estimated to exceed 25 million, and are still climbing. Millions of years of human life and something in the ballpark of a trillion dollars per year are still being lost to long COVID — in the OECD alone. This exemplifies a recurring pattern of similar institutional failures, in which medical decision-making rejects outside expertise, replacing it with opaque processes biased towards inaction, that often seem strangely consistent with the personal opinions of those involved.

Planning a Trip to Xi’an and Want to Wear Hanfu? Here's How to Pick Without a Mistake 🕳️ Save this Now!
Are you planning a trip to Xi'an and want to wear Hanfu, but unsure of how to choose in the store? Do not worry; it will be super simple! Just remember the key points below to avoid mistakes in picking Hanfu. First, you'll want to know the different styles of Hanfu. For the Qin, Han, and Warring States Periods: Includes straight or curved lapel styles including the style recently made popular by wearing Warring States robes. Good for a cooler or more noble style.
Tumblr media
For the Wei and Jin Dynasties: Cross-collared, waist length styles. Good for cooler or pure looks.
Tumblr media
For the Tang Dynasty Hanfu: 🔥 Lots of variation from skirts like the "Heziqun" style (of disputed origin) to a chest-high ruqun or long Tang-style robes with half sleeves or broad necklines. Good for sweet or luxurious looks.
Tumblr media
For the Song Dynasty Hanfu: Lots of choices from a straight long robe open down the front with buttons, Song-style tube tops, pleated skirts, hundred-layer skirts, or pants in Song style. Good for sweeter or pure styles.
For the Ming Dynasty Hanfu: Long coats with a stand-up collar, square or square-collared sleeveless jackets, and 🔥 horse-face skirts were especially important and can sometimes mean dignity in one's dress.
Tumblr media
For the Qing Dynasty Hanfu: Recently popular Qing Dynasty Hanfu for women and or a Gege-style robe is not something you might think of, but if you know, you know!
Tumblr media
For Han-element types: Although not Hanfu, finds like the Western Region look, flower embroidered chest-high dresses (including dress strap type), and 🔥 a new Chinese type are so beautiful! So many styles to enjoy!
Tumblr media
Okay, choosing the right Hanfu from any of the above type Hanfu becomes easy.
Big chest: Avoid chest-high, cross-collared, and short jackets.
Plus size: You should wear Ming (possibly restored Tang only) styles.
Chest-high skirts: You can be short or tall would be flattering to either type of person which will make short ladies look taller even a little slim, and will make tall ladies look gloriously elegant.Different body types have different styles to help the Hanfu flatters body type
Wide waist.: Avoid Wei and Jin or Song Dynasty, waist-length Hanfu.
Wide shoulders and big chest: Do not choose any front-buttoned Hanfu that is waist length.
Wide shoulders: Avoid Wei and Jin, cross-collared, waist-length Hanfu.
Significant waist-hip differential: Avoid horse-face skirts, they will "tuck" or puff out awkwardly. They can be better matched with wide-sleeve, loose, big, long tops or long robes to cover this part desired.
Wide hips and thick legs: Select Song style pants.
Short neck and big chest: Wide necklines should be worn. Do not even think about stand-up collars.
Embroidered cloud shoulders: If you have broad shoulders, do not wear this feature.
Wearing Hanfu is about showing our beauty. If you are trying on various Hanfu that do not look flattering on you, it now might just be the fit of the look of that particular hanfu that did not agree with your appearance if you like to wear Hanfu. There are easily thousands of styles of Hanfu to find the unique one you love. The one you love unique to your style is always the best! Wish all my fellow Hanfu lovers so much the best of luck to look beautiful possible with even cooler style than the Hanfu popldacable have look good rocking going out wearing Hanfu!

TianTsui or DianCui 点翠 "dotting with kingfishers" is a style of Chinese art featuring kingfisher feathers.
For 2,000 years, the Chinese have been using the iridescent blue feathers of kingfisher birds as an inlay for fine art objects and adornment, from hairpins, headdresses, and fans to panels and screens. While Western art collectors have focused on other areas of Chinese art including porcelain, lacquer ware, sculpture, cloisonné, silk and paintings, kingfisher art is relatively unknown outside of China.
With kingfisher birds becoming a protected species, contemporary artisans have turned to innovative substitutes instead of kingfisher feathers, such as blue-dyed silk and synthetic feathers.
