So, in one of the only wholly palatable Aeldari books (Valedor, by Guy Haley) an Autarch is forced to leave an Avatar of Khaine behind on a world absolutely swarming with Tyranids. Later in the novel, he returns to finish off the Tyranids and finds a literal mountain of dead Tyranids with fire coming out of the top like a volcano even as more Tyranids climb it. The Avatar is still alive and is systematically murdering every single Tyranid that comes within reach:

I know I'm doing a shit job at being active and replying here, but I saw this 40k post going around, the reblogs aren't inspiring great confidence in me and I have to comment on it

The meme(?) below is being VASTLY misunderstood. Since the OP I took this from is suffering enough on their own post, I'm reposting it and putting everything under the "Read More" so it isn't TOO bright of a flashbang grenade getting launched out of your dashboard and directly into your cornea

Warhammer (the brand in general, not just Warhammer: 40k) has a pretty bad reputation for parts of its fanbase Similar to how punk rock fans, metal music fans, history nerds, WW1/WW2 video game players, grand strategy video game players, alternate history fans, historical reenactors and people who just like knight and/or viking aesthetics get associated with the misogynistic, racist, homo/trans-phobic, anti-semitic, islamophobic [insert whatever brand of bigotry you can imagine] minority among them, Warhammer's public image gets painted with those same broad strokes

Time and time again, fans who are decent human beings and even the company itself (Games Workshop) have tried to explain that the Warhammer universe is satirical and that its dark themes and historical parallels are meant to show how terrible such a setting could be (so as to DISCOURAGE xenophobia, fanaticism, authoritarianism, intolerance, human apathy, etc). But because the abhorrently bigoted fans thump their chests, loudly proclaim themselves to be The True FansTM and go well out of their way to harass anyone who isn't a carbon-copy of themselves, we ALL get a bad rep

What This Meme is About:

It calls attention to the hypocrisy of Warhammer's abhorrent fans---specifically, the ones who harass women and non-cis fans for allegedly "ruining" the setting by either expressing attraction to Warhammer characters or sharing "degenerate, pornographic" artwork of said characters (which they will accuse of being despite not actually being nsfw)

But while they froth, seethe and demonize the Fake FansTM (or "Fandom Tourists", in their words) for nsfw artwork of male characters, they turn around and salivate over nsfw artwork of FEMALE characters (including gender-swapped / rule63 versions of male characters, as seen above)

That's tricky, because different people find different things funny. Hmmm.

Grizgutz, an Ork who accidentally traveled back in time via the warp and immediately killed his past self so he could have two of his favourite gun.

Daellon in Master of Sanctity tried to walk down a staircase in terminator plate and fell straight through the stairs whilst cursing nonstop.

A guy whose palace was being sieged by Dark Angels made a deal with a Keeper of Secrets for a "powerful artifact" to "end the siege". The Keeper of Secrets was in fact the Changeling in disguise, and handed the dude the Ravenwing's teleport homer, which he promptly activated.

Trazyn got a planet exterminatus'd because he let out a genestealer on it to kill Orikan, and then they both completely forgot about it for centuries, leading to a cult overtaking the planet.

Guilliman, while he's consigned to the Armour of Fate, knocks his papers all over the desk and floor and then bitches to Cato Sicarius about being defeated by sheafs of paper.

Asdrubel Vect took out three rival houses by antagonising the Imperium and capturing the astartes cruiser that came to inspect the situation. He then let one of said rivals take the cruiser, knowing full well there was a librarian on board transmitting their location. Conveniently, a shitload of Salamanders were able to breach into Commorragh via that signal, literally ran over the first rival in another cruiser, and then killed the other two during their entirely miraculous and not at all suspicious escape back into realspace.

Finally, Warboss Ufthak Blackhawk won a Commorragh arena fight against a space marine by picking him up by the leg and yeeting him into the stands, where the astartes promptly started attacking everyone.
