Well, usually, in his free time, Mickey prefers to either read or take a walk in the park with Pluto, or with friends if they are not busy. Unfortunately, there is not enough time (or money) for such hobbies as, for example, collecting model airplanes or playing music.

Since Manon was adopted, the range of leisure activities has increased. And now, for Mickey, among his favorite ways to spend it is not only walks in the park or going to the circus, but also board games. Mickey and Manon especially love to play chess.

Mickey also likes to while away the evening watching movies. But it is better not to watch a detective movie with him - Mickey will solve the criminal before the heroes😄

Okay, listen.

If anyone remembers, I mentioned that Minnie does volunteer work in her spare time. So, I've been thinking for a long time about what to name the volunteer organization. But when I was inspired to write a drabble about Mickey and Minnie meeting, I decided to use the characters from Roadster races/Mixed-up adventures. And then it hit me. Happy Helpers!

There will be a volunteer organization in Mouseton called Happy Helpers!

But the logo and office will be a little different from the cartoons.

How I want to use Phantom Blot in Stories from Mouseton

Besides the classic image of a criminal mastermind, I want to use the image of Basil Blackspot. In my AU, Basil is a well-known person and, perhaps, he recently arrived/moved to Mouseton. And the meeting with Mickey will happen either because of his fame or because of Basil's specific field of activity.

Maybe Basil will be an editor of a scientific journal? It would be a cool reference to the comic book series about the reporter Goofy, mixed with the Phantom's knowledge, skills and abilities in scientific fields. Just imagine: a journal editor by day, and a terror of the criminal world by night!

And it would be interesting to think about the interactions between Mickey and Phantom Blot in this vein.

Looks like I have something to share!

Last weekend I was inspired and FINALLY started typing SOMETHING about my fanfic «Stories from Mouseton»! And so, this week, I've almost finished the first chapter and am working on the second.

(In fact, I've also sketched out excerpts for the third and fourth chapters, but they're really small stuff compared to what I've already typed)

Briefly about the plot. It will be Mickey and Minnie meeting and confusion with notebooks, and the story will be told from two points of view. You can read briefly about how it happened here.

But there is one BUT!

Now I'm typing the fanfic in my native language, Russian, and I will only translate after publishing all 4 chapters. And the translation process itself is probably not easy... I think that closer to summer I will be able to start the translation process (when the session are over). I'll keep you updated!

It's just that all of this is very important to me, since I intend to realize my stories (especially SfM) into something significant!

Nothing in honor of April Fools' Day, just a couple of notes on plots for a fanfic episode.

1. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Their Kids' Camping Trip. The friends were preparing for their annual camping trip, but this time they decided to bring their kids along. Manon, despite being a little nervous about meeting new people, agreed to join the camping trip.

While camping, Manon, Goofy's son Max, and Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie get into trouble (presumably getting stuck in caves?). While the fathers of the year (no joke) look for ways to save the kids, the kids try to work together to get out of trouble on their own.

This whole adventure leads to Manon finding a common language with Max and the triplets. And after learning about the Junior Woodchucks, she gets excited about joining the Scout headquarters in Mouseton.

2. The Prince and the Journalist. A plot that combines the plot of "The Prince and the Pauper" and the comic strip about Mickey Mouse and the Prince of Medioca. The point is that this very prince comes to Mouseton on important (possibly financial?) business. Due to the fact that he rarely appears in public, an interview with this prince is almost worth all the gold.

However, the prince manages to notice his exact copy, Mickey, among the journalists. And, as in the cartoon, the prince draws Mickey into a game of substitution and dressing up, thus getting the opportunity to take a little rest from royal worries. Perhaps, there will be attempts by the antagonists to harm the prince, taking advantage of the case with the substitution. But, as usual, everything will end well, the bad guys will be imprisoned, and Mickey will have an exclusive material for the newspaper.

And Manon is missing from this episode. The reason: a week-long hike with the Junior Woodchucks.

I wanted to write and illustrate one thing, but suddenly inspiration came for something else.

Anyway, I'll share some rough sketches of Mooney and Pluto.

I'm currently working very slowly on a short fanfic about Mickey, Manon, and Pluto. I wanted to try to illustrate some of the parts, but... Now, I'm not so sure about this idea😄

And while I'm writing the text, I'd like to ask for advice.

If I finish the fanfic, should I post it on this blog, or on AO3?

There are two options why Mick fell asleep like that. Either he was working too much (checking the house bills and the list of things to buy Manon, finishing the article) or it was after trying to get Manon back to bed when she was sleepwalking.

If you are one of those who like to choose the voices of their characters - this post is for you😉

I don't know why, but it was somehow difficult to find a suitable voice for Manon. Maybe because mouse characters often have rather high (but varied) voices?

I needed a voice for a child under 10, and one that would suit a child prodigy. And at first I thought about... the voice of Stacy from the Goofy Movie (although Stacy is not shown as a child prodigy). At first, it seemed suitable to me. But... Soon I did not like this option. And so I decided to choose the voice of an inventor character.

I did not choose Lunella from Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur (although the option was considered). Lunella is a teenager, and Manon is a child.

So Manon was voiceless for a long time.

But today I made another attempt and googled the voice actors of Tails from the Sonic franchise. And... I think I found a suitable option for Manon. Kate Higgins or Colleen O'Shaughnessy ("or" because their voice acting for Tails is almost identical). Time codes are in the video description (or you can skip to 4:08. The voice sample is from there to 5:50).

I think this version of the voice is the closest to what Manon might have had. If I had the opportunity, I would have made something similar to an animation for “trying on” the voice.

So, I colored Minnie and Prince Penguin.

If we talk about the plot involving this antagonist, the idea is as follows.

After robbing an antique store, Mickey, Manon, Pluto and Minnie began searching for the bandits' lair in order to both return Minnie's antiques and help the police (due to severe snowstorms, the police cannot keep up with the robbers). And when during their investigation the friends encountered the bandits again, the latter grabbed and took Minnie away. Mickey, Manon and Pluto, naturally, rush to save their friend. At this time, Minnie tried to defend herself from the leader of the bandits, who turned out to be Prince Penguin, and who decided to make Minnie his queen (he is crazy!).

That's all for now. How the fight in the Penguin's ice castle will go, I don't know yet.
