One of my fave Everlark scenes isn’t kissing or anything romantic. It’s when Peeta admits he painted Rue for the Gamemakers, and everyone is shocked so Katniss is like, “well I hung Seneca Crane whoopsie.” And then they just giggle because they are both so alike in some ways. Maybe Peeta is more artistic and intentional while and Katniss is more confrontational and reactionary, but they are in step with each other in a way that is truly impressive.

I'm sorry, but it's so funny how Garcia goes from "who the fuck put this guy on BiPap? 😡" to "Oh, it was Santos? That's fine, honest mistake from the beautiful rookie 🥰"
And Langdon and Robby's reaction?
PRICELESS

The fact that Peeta could positively identify primroses at the end of Mockingjay leads me to believe he knew he was picking wild onion for Katniss at the end of THG.
Peeta knew he was gifting Katniss something pretty and edible.

Let's talk about Eddie's deep well of want forever. Eddie who wanted everything @sadgayeddie said in this post about Eddie giving Buck permission to be angry. And yes, that! But also Eddie, who wanted Buck to be angry with him because Eddie is angry with himself. Eddie, who (according to him) messed up and drove his kid away, and therefore must be punished, not just because he doesn't have Chris, but because he now has to leave his home, his job, his family, his best friend. The only silver lining to moving is Chris, who at the time isn't talking to him and isn't going to live with him, but the complete unhappiness around the move is something Eddie will bear. It's just another atlas on his back, another albatross around his neck, because to Eddie, all of this is his fault for wanting to spend time with Kim because he never got enough time with Shannon. And hat was his fault too, including hat she died because if he didn't driver her away, she would've come back to Texas. And so if Buck can be mad at him, it'll be like Eddie gets to be mad, because he can't actually let that his consequences, and maybe if Buck is angry enough and pushes and pushes like he always does, Eddie will have an excuse to get angry, too, angry at someone else other than himself, because he doesn't have the right to feel it.
And instead, Buck tells him he isn't angry, maybe only initially, and instead of fight back, Buck fights for: fights for Eddie and for Chris and for both of them together. He takes anger and punishment off the table, because Buck may ignore all of Eddie's faults in public and to others, he never ignores it with Eddie while never holding it over Eddie, the way Eddie thinks he deserves. To Buck, Eddie deserves grace and as many chances to fix his mistakes, and if the world and Eddie won't give it to Eddie, Buck will figure out a way to let him have it. He's been doing it since almost the very beginning.

the take that Everlark endgame disappoints the narrative because Peeta was Snow’s choice for Katniss is baffling. The turning point in Snow’s perception of their relationship is made enormously clear in Mockingjay: when he realizes that Katniss has actually fallen in love with Peeta on her own accord, he spends weeks programming Peeta into a machine meant to kill her—or meant to be killed by her.
That’s why Katniss tells Peeta “don’t let him take you from me” when he begins to slip away again on their rebel mission. She knows that not being with Peeta, having to go so far as to kill him, is what Snow wants now: not for them to end up together.
Finally, she gets to own her ending with him.

we don't talk enough about how when gale was whipped, peeta stood up for him and went up there because he knew he was katniss' best friend (and maybe lover for all he knew) and he didn't make any comments about it to katniss at all (at least not romance related ones)
but when peeta was tortured and hijacked, gale compared himself to him and said he would never top that level of pain and now katniss won't choose him

Coin’s line of thinking behind wanting to save Peeta over Katniss from the arena is sort of hilarious. I get that Peeta is better with crowd work and his words but … You think he’d trust you after you abandoned the girl who’s been his girlfriend in his head since he was five years old to the dogs? This is loverboy himself we’re talking about. Did no one brief you?
and quite like Katniss, he has a tendency to do and say whatever the fuck he wants, regardless of what he’s being told to do.

like wdym langdon is repeatedly shown as incapable of understanding what his wife wants from him and how to provide it, the biggest example of this being the dog that she doesn’t want, compared to how he treats mel, who he instantly becomes attuned to and actively strives to become the version of himself that she needs him to be. and the pinnacle of this dynamic is when he sends her to the break room. yknow. when he gives her the dog.

give your characters exes.
give them a variety of exes. give them relationships that shaped who they are but did not last. give them people they tried very hard to love but it didn't work out. give them situationships that taught them things. give them something deep that was real but could not endure. things that hurt. things that ended amicably. people with whom hot passion cooled to warm affection and became undying friendship.
no more first and only. give me the context of what made them know the next or one after was final and right.

keep thinking about those screenshots of buck's house after bobby died. no flowers. no one sent him flowers because it wasn't his dad who died, not really. just like chris leaving wasn't his son leaving, not really. eddie going to texas wasn't his partner leaving, not really. buck occupies all of these spaces unofficially and he knows who he is to them but when they leave he's always, always left with nothing. again. most important relationships of his life and he's empty-handed and wondering if he'd imagined it all in the first place.
