i hate driving. here are the laws! if you break them there will be consequences! except youre also expected to break the law just a little bit. people will get mad at you if you dont. you dont have right of way but the person who does is waving you forward for some reason. here's the speed limit! it's not the speed limit, the actual speed limit is that plus ~5-10. the light is green but you're in the turning lane. can you go? should you have gone just then? the person behind you is honking at you. there's a weird noise coming from your engine; if you try to do the right thing and get it checked out, will you get scammed? you are driving a 1-2 ton metal machine rocketing at speeds unknown to humankind for most of history. around a million people die in car accidents every year; that's about one person every thirty seconds. if you take that seriously and try to drive safely then people get mad at you.

Aerith Gainsborough is the funniest woman alive.

A twink carrying her dead boyfriends oversized sword falls out of the sky right in front of her and instead of being, I don’t know, surprised? Or knocked off balance? She just goes “great, please fight the high level government hitmen that are tailing me. That’s your job now :)” even though it is 100% clear she could do it herself and this is an almost weekly occurrence. Cloud, in return, recieves absolutely nothing for his services, but he does get dragged along by this girl all the way to her home, where her mom’s like “Honey, you can’t keep surprise kidnapping grown-ass human beings, especially the ones too timid to talk back to you. Oh also, the cops stopped by looking for you.” And Aerith goes “What else is new? Anyways, I’m gonna go take this funky traumatized twink shopping and make him wear flowers crowns, byeeeeeee~”

And then you go and fight another high level government hitman because apparently this girl is so wanted by the cops that she’s on a first name basis with half the assassins in the city, but also you learn that despite all odds, she’s also actually super nice and uses her steamroller of a personality to care for her neighborhood and annoy the shit out of the police.

And then she just refuses to leave and helps break a woman she’s never met out of the flashiest mansion in town and drags Cloud to the club and then tags along to whack people with a stick and ends up helping to save the world.

What a gal.

Putting my animation diploma to some real use for once and animating my girls

Definitely had some challenges with this one as it's a fairly technical shot, but I'm proud of where it ended up!

I’ve been tinkering with the idea of an urban fantasy “All Fairy Tales Are True” setting where some fairy tale characters are mortals who reincarnate and live through their story again and again with no memory of their past lives, but other characters are immortal, carrying over biases and grudges and regrets from the last time they went through this.

Snow White’s dwarves keep her room exactly as she left it, and keep a wary eye on the horizon for the day she returns. When she does they treat her like a beloved daughter come home, cook her favourite meals, warn her to stay away from apples this time, and keep calling her the wrong name.

Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother found her a touch ungrateful last time, and has decided not to appear to her this time around to teach her a lesson in gratitude. This Cinderella, without the memory of the last time, is still a terrified, miserable woman desperate to escape her awful situation.

The Witch in the gingerbread house has developed a thousand traps to eat those goddamned kids. She’s failed every time. She lives a life of Sisyphean torment previously known only to cartoon coyotes.
