organic-steel:
Colossus had shifted into his full metal form the second he saw what was coming his way. His job on the campus was to protect the students and he was planning on doing just that. He was stationed outside of the entrance, blocking the path and not letting any enter.
After picking one mutant up and throwing him like a sack of potatoes, lightning struck the ground around him and caused the others who were attacking him to faint slightly. Luckily, he wasn’t affected by that sort of power and he looked up to see the powerful Storm helping to protect the school. With both of their powers combined, they would make a formidable match for any mutants who tried to attack them. “Ororo! Can you see how many there are? What should we do?”
Tumblr media
“There are many more than what we can see from the ground. I fear this will be a long battle.” Having collected enough moisture, Ororo sent a fast moving flood towards the army and nodded decisively as it knocked over more than a few. While they had appeared very organised at the beginning, Ororo could see factions starting to break away and engage without the support of their group. Perhaps if they could scatter more of them...break down the steady flow of bodies and turn it in to a trickle... “We need to break their line - some have broken off but we need them to lose their sense of unity. They must not be allowed to reach the school. Especially if they believe we are simply toys to bat at on their way inside.”

jubilxtion-lee:
“No,” Jubilation frowned.  “I’m not sitting still and doing nothing, not if I can actually help.”  But the oncoming charge of mutants were getting closer.  Jubilation felt uneasy but she wasn’t going to let that freeze her.  Ororo’s storm of lightning bought their class some time and Jubilation had to agree; this was the perfect chance to flee, get people to safety.  “Okay.  Everyone, you heard her!  Let’s go!  Let’s go!”
Tumblr media
“Jubilee...” It was her role as professor to protect her young charges but they were not helpless. Now was not the time to argue semantics in any case - there was an endless charge of mutants who meant them all harm coming straight for them. “Very well. But you must promise me that if the battle takes a turn for the worst, you will find a safe place. I cannot allow you to join me if you do not understand the gravity of this battle.” She stared Jubilee down, the epitome of patience despite the danger outside. Still waiting for an answer, Ororo took all her gathered water and sent it flooding towards David’s army. Hopefully it would knock the front line off their feet and give their side a chance.

There had been murmurs of David’s condition ever since the carnival and Ororo had not buried her head in the sand. She had seen the difficulty most telepaths had with their powers and David was the strongest in a very long time - perhaps that was why he’d betrayed them. Turning her attention back to her class, she made sure her voice was calm and even before addressing them. It wasn’t that she was scared of the approaching horde. No, what she was worried about was one of her students recklessly getting themselves killed.
“Stay inside. Only fight if there is no other choice - let us look after them for you.” She looked each and every child in their eyes until they nodded in agreement. Trusting that her students would listen, she began to gather her winds until she was lifted in the air. One sharp push of her hand and wind shot through the closed window, sending glass sprinkling. She would show them what happened when her home was threatened.
Looking at the charging mutants beneath her feet, like ants all running for the honey, she though with a scowl and raised her hands to the crackling sky. “How dare you attack our home - leave, now!” Uttering her only warning, Ororo showered bolts of lightening towards the approaching line of bodies, a grim look upon her face even as she floated closer to the ground. Calling out to the nearest person, she began to gather the moisture in the air and from her clouds.  “We must move quickly. They will be stunned by the storm for only a moment.”

(Animated) Storm over the years.
Queen. Goddess. Cloud-Walker. I think those are too many titles for one who simply wishes to help.
