It's been warm the last few days. I popped on my pink lightweight cotton play dress, cute white lace fold over socks and silver glittery mary janes with the bow on the vamp. Just to stay and look cool. The dress is from JCPenney's, the socks and shoes are from Amazon. Still blessed that I can fit in the biggest of girls sized clothes.

The hardest thing I have found creating original content for this account is trying to be creative. I am trying to figure out how to make the everyday post more appealing to everyone. I am going to try a few things out. I am going to call them props for a better term. Let's see if I add props to some of the pictures that it would make it more exciting for everyone. I am also going to create a few videos. Hopefully, they don't get flagged for adult content. Yes, they will be clean on the surface.

Putting away the big shoes
I was trying to figure out if I wanted to continue with the big shoe comparison. We are placing those types of posts on hold at the moment. Will they continue in the future? The answer is yes. Just not now. The big shoes are in storage now. I think there are going to be more skirts, tights, and shoes post. These are easy to stage. I tend to get more milage out of them than the other types of post.
Another factor was getting more shoes to do the comparison with. Of course, getting extremely large women's shoes is very hard to come by. There is a website where I can get women's shoes as large as I think I can get. Buying a pair of size 22 or size 25 custom pumps or flats is possible at 200 + dollars a pair. It's is out of range for this forum at the time being. Even on eBay and a pair of size 20 pumps are around 100 dollars a pair from China. I put a few size 17 flats into a wish list on Amazon to future consideration. At 70 dollars a piece, the time is not now.
I can now look forward to posting pictures from my collection of ballet flats and saddle shoes. I have 11 pairs of classic Sam and Libby big bowed ballet flats in various colors from the Target reboot 8 years ago. I haven't shown off the rest of the my Sam Edelman flats collection I have. That's about another 10 pairs there. The vintage Tic Tac Toes ballet flats I have hasn't seen the light of day for years.
There is always more where all of this comes from.

Amazon vs. Everlane glove fit flats. The Amazon pair is on the left, Everlane pair is on the right. The Everlane has not been worn to many times. They are not broken in. That's a tall order for that pair because I haven't worn them lot because I can barely get my feet into them. They do run narrow. The Amazon pair was sized up because my history with Everlane shoes. I should have brought the Amazon in my size. They run wider than the Everlane flats and have more cushioning than the Everlane pair.

@live-laugh-lurk
Tumblr media
Good morning. I was inspired by @live-laugh-lurk post asking about acquiring saddle shoes. These are a pair of brown and white saddle shoes from Royal. The label doesn't make these anymore. These are in the classic style. I would say similar styled shoes were prevalent in the 1930s through the the 1950s. That's the reason I aquired this pair. I love wearing these with my Pendleton wool plaid skirts. It's the right look with heavy tights or bobby socks.
I paired this pair of shoes with knit red tights and a Pendleton wool jumper plaid dress that has been in storage. I have a similar long plaid skirt.

I originally took a pair of Trotters black cross vamp ballet pumps to wear with the red circle skirt. I changed out of them and into a pair of black pumps.

This is one of my new skirts from Glitz Glam Rebellion. It's a red circle skirt. Underneath, I am wearing the petticoat I purchased from Amazon. Today is not a good day to be trying out this outfit. It's humid outside, and even in the AC, I am roasting in this outfit. The magenta cardigan was supposed to give the outfit a little depth. The short sleeve sweater and Peter Pan Collar are white and probably would blend together and not be noticeable if I didn't have the cardigan on. I should have gone with a black cardigan. The shoes are not right. I have my comfort wedges on. I need to wash and fluff out the skirt. They pancaked my entire order together. Everything is going to be wrinkled as I take it out of the packaging.

I have big skirts and I can not lie
This is a comparison between a girl's size 8 plaid skirt and a skirt with the same plaid in the size I wear. The size difference is pretty unreal.

I am putting away my beige pair of ballet sneakers. I really only have one dress that I can wear with this pair of ballet sneakers. I can bring them out later if and when I have another outfit to wear with them.
These were the hottest ballet sneakers on Pinterest and Instagram last fall. I have three pairs of this style from JW Pei in beige, white, and black. The other two colors I can pair with a bunch more outfits.

I am tying up a few loose ends here. I bought the largest pair of canvas ballet practice slippers that are available.
These are women's size 20 wide in the ballet world or in the street shoes world, a size 17 1/2 wide or size 15 men's. This pair dwarves all of my other ballet slippers I own. These are a full 12 inches long. Compare it to my Bloch size 42 leather ballet flat.

Today's outfit is a Catholic school uniform. A white peter pan collar blouse, navy blue tie, blue plaid below knee knife pleat skirt, navy blue tights, and white ballet bedroom slippers. My feet are tired and I don't want to wear my school shoes. These are all authentic girls' school uniform pieces I am wearing. There are no costume pieces shown.
The blouse is from Miss Tulane, the tie is from Cookie's kids department store in NYC, this skirt has popped up before and is from French Toast, and the tights and bedroom slippers are from the collection. I can get this skirt with a higher hemline. Remember, modesty is a virtue.
