For my animation final I took my clay model and digitized it. I initially was just going to change parts of it to make it a whole model but I found after using the Retroized Feature in Mudbox (Figure 1) I needed to make my face more even. So I took it into Maya. In Maya I discovered that there was WAY too much geometry in the model and that it was made of triangles instead of quadrilaterals. I found the Quadradulate tool but it made lots of little squares. (Figure 2) I then fiddled with the reduce geometry tool.. a little too much (Figures 3 and 4) After realizing reducing by hand would be a hassle, I took my original model in mudbox and edited the colour scheme and fixed some of the bumps and deformities it had. I may not have gotten to do what I originaly did but I learned a lot about 3D modeling and the technology that is available for animators.

Prototype 1: Character designs.
This went well. I never used a drawing tablet before so it was hard to learn while trying to get this done but I think I have come to enjoy working on a digital drawing tablet.
When it comes to the overall project I think I will use the tablet when painting the characters skin even though I plan to keep the animation black and white for simplicity.
