After playing with the blood all day I can honestly say my hands are now stained haha! The ubersaw is almost finished as I stated making that one first a week ago and the bone saw only got started midweek I would say. But there both coming along nicely and almost ready for con!

I had fun painting these earlier on well I always love painting props! I’m always up for doing prop commissions also guys just to let you know!

@infamouslydorky had some amazing tunes on whilst I was painting these so that was more fun instantly!

I originally planned on doing a cosplay that allowed me to be comfortable at the convention….and then I saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. As soon as I saw Kingpin I thought, I MUST BE HIM. I fell in love with his character design and loved how absurdly large he was.

  I started sculpting his face after I saw the movie but didn’t start on the body until a couple weeks before the convention. I basically just built a box out of insulation foam sheets with foam pieces inside that rested on my shoulders to give him height. I cut a hole out of the belly area and covered the entire body in sheer black fabric so that I could see through it without any obvious vision holes. For the arms, I bought the largest pair of black pants I could find at the thrift shop and used them as sleeves. I stuffed them with foam and ran a wire through them so they could bend and so I could easily attach my silicone hands (which were lifecasts of my own tiny hands). I ran the face in silicone and backed it with foam. I then attached the face to the body with silicone caulk. Everything else was basically attached by hot glue and a prayer. 

I tried it on for the first time a couple days before the convention and realized the insulation foam was really doing its job and within seconds I was already getting warm. So, the night before the show I ran out and bought a battery operated fan that I installed under his armpit.

As much as I stressed about all the imperfections, as soon as I walked into the con and saw the reactions to it, I was immediately relieved. Seeing so many little Miles cosplayers freak out over a giant Fisk truly made my day. Doing cosplay is such an amazing creative outlet for me. I’m a full-time SFX artist, but like most jobs, I don’t have any creative freedom. Cosplay gives me the opportunity to use all these crazy skills I’ve learned and create something that brings myself and others pure joy.

Catch me making one last cry for help. Some of y'all know the story, but for those who don’t its under the cut.

In short, we desperately need help. My pride hurts just typing this, but I have to try for my child. We have until Sunday to be moved out. My husband doesn’t get paid until next week, so we’re not working with much. We just need help with a deposit for an apartment or down-payment on a trailer. I find out more this evening after we’ve seen some places.

At this point we’re working with ‘we’ll have to live in the car’ funds. With a baby. In the winter.

My mom is knowingly putting us in this situation after all we’ve done to help them out. In return they let us live in one room in their basement. Like we don’t even bother them. We don’t even shower everyday because we’ve tried to use as little water as possible to keep them happy, we eat our own food, and do what we can to not use electricity and water. And she knows Cody has a VERY important interview next Monday. The kind that could totally reset our world back on track.

I know it’s a lot to ask, but if you can even toss us a few bucks it’d be so appreciated. A car is no place for a kid to live. And Ella is so well taken care of and loved she doesn’t fucking deserve being kicked to the street because she’s teething. i’m just so thankful she won’t remember this struggle, but i feel awful?? because i love her with all my heart, she’s crazy healthy and is so tall she’s off the damn growth chart. i’ve mixed water in my shampoo & body wash so we can always have money on hand for anything she might need. we’ve gone hungry if we even suspect she needs formula.

I just want her to have a roof over her head.

Article 13 is going into it’s final stages of voting. 

If this gets through, it will allow many, many companies to abuse and misuse this article to take down as many memes, fan works, and even other independent creators on sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other websites INCLUDING Tumblr. 

THE FAIR USE LAW AND SAFEHARBOR LAW WILL NO LONGER APPLY IN THE U.S OR IN OTHER COUNTRIES. 

IT HAS ALREADY PASSED IN SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES. 

WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE AWAY WHAT WE BUILT FOR THE INTERNET SO FAR. 

So here is what you need to do to drag this article down. 

1. Spread the word 

I can’t stress this enough. The more attention this gets the more people we can get to take this down. 

2. Make your own content 

Make your own content on the matter and make sure it is clear to others that Article 13 is bad for every internet user involved. 

3. If you live anywhere in Europe, contact your MEPs 

Ask them if they approve of the article and why. If they do approve of it, try to convince them in a clear, reasonable, and most sensible way possible that this law is BAD. 

The article itself is way to vague about what it’s conveying to its people. 

Saying that as long as the use of said internet memes or content is good as long as it’s in “good faith.” 

We cannot let some shoddy government tell us what we can and cannot post. 

FREE SPEECH IS A HUMAN RIGHT. NOT A PRIVILEGE.

Cosplay Tip:

Check your makeup’s expiry date; often indicated with a makeup container and a number of months. If your makeup starts to smell weird, gets clumpy, sticky, separates or changes colour it is time to toss.
