That concludes round 1 in Strangetown. A lot happened:
We had two more unexpected deaths (Vidcund and Olive)
One birth (Dalton)
Four teens left for college
And one engagement.
Next up is Veronaville!

To celebrate her promotion, Lola asked Ajay out on their first proper date. They went to a fancy restaurant downtown, where Lola proposed a toast to their financial success.
I had been judging Ajay for wearing a t-shirt to the nice restaurant, but then Lola ordered a hamburger and ate with her hands. At least they both know what they like, I guess.
When they had finished eating, it was time for Lola to reveal the real reason for their date...
I love how sims of all genders are equally excited to be presented with a sparkly ring.
Lola and Ajay were officially engaged! This was the last day of the round, so the wedding will have to wait for next round.

With her promotion, Kristen was now on the night shift like Chloe, so she joined her for some late night studying while Chloe watched a movie.
The next morning, Erin and Lola ate breakfast together.
Kristen had a less successful attempt at breakfast.
Lola got another chance card, this time ending in a promotion!

Erin took a trip to the Job Centre in Bluewater Village and finally found the job she wanted in the Culinary career. Chloe decided to join her and met up with her sister/step-mum.
Jan Tellerman took an instant dislike to Chloe for some reason and wouldn't leave her alone. Chloe had more luck with Armando Cox.
Erin apparently didn't have very strong feelings for Kristen and started flirting with Chloe. Nothing happened though, as Chloe had to beat up Jan and by the time she was done, the taxi had arrived.

Finally, back to the Singles household, the last of the round in Strangetown. Ajay didn't spend any time with Lola during the second half of his round, but Lola immediately made a beeline for him in hers. They spent the evening together and both fell in love.
Chloe continued to chat with Oberon, who had come home from work with her in the first half of the round.
Lola woke the next morning and decided she wanted to get engaged to Ajay!
Kristen and Erin sort of spent time together as Kristen studied before work. Erin then decided to be the bigger person and apologised to Chloe. The two made up and quickly became friends after that.

That evening, Ajay invited Jake over again, as their friendship was waning.
Ajay had to take a break from their chess game to answer the phone. He had a nice chat with Regan while Jake joked with Kristen and Chloe serenaded Cleve. She finally fell in love with him!
After he got off the phone, most people had gone back outside, but Ajay stayed in a bit longer to chat with Chloe. Despite not seeing Lola at all this second half of the round, I guess things were serious enough that he wanted to get to know her family.
Ajay then followed everyone outside. I don't know why Cleve was censored like that, he's very clearly clothed.

Ajay continued round 1 with a bit of socialising. He introduced himself to his neighbours, because Ajay knows that the key to financial success is not what you know but who you know.
To that purpose, he called up Jake again, then watched a movie with Erin and Cleve, who had taken his open door policy seriously.
While Ajay worked on his charisma, Erin and Kristen once again used the sofa outside his apartment to woohoo, observed by a passing townie.

Finally, it was time to say goodbye to Ripp before he left for college. He'll be joining Tank, Johnny and Ophelia at Sim State University.
Buck made the most of having his dad all to himself for once.
Of course, this was still the Grunt family - Buzz made dinner, then chose to sit as far away from Buck as possible to eat.

After the party ended, Buzz went outside to finally attend to his much neglected garden. Ripp interrupted him, when he got home, to ask for help with his homework, but Buzz refused.
Buck, meanwhile, continued to stargaze.
The next day, Buzz received a call from Komei and they became friends again, having lost touch recently.
Buck check himself out with his new haircut.

With Tank gone, it was time to celebrate Buck's birthday. Ripp couldn't join them as he had to work, but he did organise a birthday party before he left.
Buck grew up well and rolled the Romance aspiration - he'll be a Hopeless Romantic!
Buzz spent most of the party with Marylena Hamilton, who he'd brought home from work. Buck enjoyed Alexander's joke.

Over at the Grunt household, the second half of the round got off to a good start with Buzz earning $55,000 through a chance card.
Ripp received an unexpected phone call from Mary-Sue of all people, while Tank danced with Alexander, who had come home with Ripp.
Unfortunately, there was no time for anything more to happen between Tank and Alexander, as it was time for Tank to leave for Sim State University.

When she got home, Jenny received a call from Chloe and they finally became friends.
Jill took over the stereo in Johnny's old room, then called Tessa again.
She began to learn how to cook and got a slight makeover.
She then stayed up late playing SSX3 after her parents had gone to bed.

Jenny and Jill waved goodbye to Johnny as he left for college. He got a couple of scholarships, but not enough to get him into Academie La Tour, so he'll be joining Dustin, Angela and Ophelia at Sim State University.
With Johnny gone, it was time to celebrate Jill's birthday. She grew up well and took the Popularity aspiration. At the moment, she gets along better with her extended family than any of the children her own age (Tessa is technically the generation below her), but maybe that will change now that she's a teen.
PT9 and Jenny immediately decided they needed another baby in the house.
Jill's party wasn't very lively, but it was okay. Everyone watched a movie together, then spent the rest of the evening watching Lazlo play SSX3.
