Studen exchange program, no thank you.
If you ask Danny, he could give you a ton of reasons why a student exchange program with an apparently high class school was a bad idea for Casper High to do and why it was even worse that somehow Danny had been volunteered for it. Ancients even Lancer was stressing how much of a bad idea it was to sent Danny Fenton to Gotham Academy.
Though Danny knew it was all the stupid fruitloops fault. Vlad wanted him out of town for something. Both Tucker and Sam had notified him about something brewing in Amity and Danny needed to get back asap. So Danny did what he could do best, cause a mess in the best Fenton manner that he could that would make Lancer faint if the man knew. In his defense, the man had tried to prevent this, but no one listened. Now Gotham Academy was dealing with a Fenton level mess and because Danny wanted to get kicked out of the Student exchange program to get back to Amity.
He did however not expect to be sent to the principle office and to be given a 'second chance' since what he did was not as bad as some of the other things Gotham students apparently can come up with.
Well, he also did not expect that his muttering, ramblings, and loud thinking were getting overheard by another student who apparently got sent to the office for attempting to stab a fellow student. Said student then continued to pester Danny the following days 'investigating' him.
Seriously all Danny wanted was to get kicked out of the student exchange and to stop whatever Vlad was doing in Amity but now he got one Damian Wayne pestering him with his weird social skills and constant threats of stabbing him if he doesn't answer questions.
And why in the name of Acients was he getting late night wellfair checks from furries?!

Timmy Drake's parents sell him to a Demon on his eighth birthday.
It was a deal for fame and glory, but they never specified what kind of fame and glory.
The kind they got was from every single news outlet showing their faces on the front page after Tim disappeared, and getting arrested for murder based on circumstantial evidence.
Jason never got murdered or went to Ethiopia, because he was helping search for the Drake kid. He didn't know why, but it was personal.
He started to think.
If Jack and Janet Drake had been put down sooner, would little Timmy still be around?
He starts pushing back at Bruce, and their fights get bigger and bigger as Bruce pushes back.
It culminates.
Jason, through an entirely different series of events, leaves Bruce of his own accord and deliberately seeks out the League of Assassins for training.
Dick essentially isolates himself in Bludhaven, keeping away from Bruce and his fraying temper.
Meanwhile, in Hell, Tim has bamboozled his way into becoming a high ranking Demon-while remaining entirely human! He's pretty sure he knows what'll happen to him when he dies, but in the meantime he's got goals.
A goal, actually.
Just the one; become so high ranking that someone does a random summon for an "unnamed demon of high status", and boom-he's back in the mortal realm!
In the catacombs of Nanda Parbat, Jason just finished a random sigil drawn in the blood of the assassins he'd killed to buy time.
He's got an injured kid with Bruce's face, a pissed off Demon Head beating down the door, and no time to choose a specific demon.

I kinda want danny who's been adopted by the wanyes to be schmoozing it up at a gala (because listen nothing is funnier than the image of Gotham elites being like oh whats this one's gimmick cus all the other's have something only for danny to just be a dude) only for like the giw to raid the place to get danny ( cus he's a ghost? Cus he's a Fenton? Who knows)
Only for danny to pick up a bottle chug it smash it and vault out a window shouting you'll never catch me alive
Now this increases his reputation with most Gothamites and rouges and absolutely worries the fuck out of the batfam why is the government chasing you danny and hiw are you so good at running

Due to his unrelenting determination to keep his town safe, Danny is bestowed a green lantern ring. Which on one hand: Yay! He gets to explore space full time. But on the other hand: Ew! he's a space cop now.
He had to rectify this immediately or he would never hear the end of it from his ghost friends. Or his regular friends for that matter. Sayyy, it'd be a shame if he.... bent a few rules. Maybe even broke some of them every now and again. And it would surely be a tragedy if say.... random pranks started happening around Oa?

Superman is unconscious, and he's...kinda the only heavy hitter available for Danny to overshadow.
A threat to Earth has landed, kinda near Amity Park, and Superman...was slapped with Kryptonite.
The aliens came prepared.
Danny can't come out and do his thing, because the GIW (opportunistic rats that they are) are sniffing around the area for any sign of Phantom.
So.
He quietly overshadows Superman.
Immediately there's a cacophony of shouting in his ear as Danny gets a first row seat to the pure Panic and Chaos that is fighting off a random alien invasion.
Okay.
Alright.
The Comm is clearly for Superman to talk to the others of the team, given the massive migraine Danny can feel coming up just from borrowing this body. He also, completely against his will, now knew from experience just how far Superman's hearing reached.
It was pretty fucking far and he was hearing things he Did Not Want To.
Danny struggles to his feet as Superman and puts up a hand to the comm. There's no point in lying to Superman's teammates, after all.
Batman at least would figure out what's going on.
"Hey, first things first I'm not Superman. Second things second I'm here to help. I just can't be out about it, cuz of the law. Where do you need me?"
The comms fall silent.
"Is Superman alive?" Batman asks, voice all gravelly and really, how does the man talk like that all the time? Doesn't it hurt?
"Yeah, he's just unconscious; I'll head out when he wakes up."
"...What is your powerset?"

DP x DC Writing Prompt: Watchtower Technician/Engineer Danny Fenton and Justice League member Dani Phantom
It's been a few years now since Danny Fenton had become the Ghost King. Since then, he's been working hard to maintain peaceful relations with the Living Realm and had found a system to keep his rouge's gallery from being too destructive while still satisfying their obsessions and such.
After that, he decided to semi-officially retire as a hero since he didn't need to protect Amity from his subjects anymore. Choosing to focus on balancing his human life and career, and his duties as the ruler of entire dimension of spirits.
While Danny knew he could never be an astronaut with his "condition", he was able to find a substitute that also managed to satisfy his protection obsession without needing to become a hero again.
Danny Fenton had chosen become an engineer/technician on the Justice League's Watchtower. Which, after a lengthy background check to make sure he wasn't joining as a cover for anything malicious, was ultimately given the green light since Zeta Tube transport was deemed much safer for his "condition".
Meanwhile, the Justice League had finally found a recruit they were interested in for the past few years now since information about him spread to the hero and supernatural communities. Namely, one 14 year old looking ghost named Danny Phantom. However when they did manage to finally track him down, they instead found what looked to be a now 14 year old ghost looking girl calling herself Dani Phantom who looked to be a match for their information on Phantom.
So cue the League coming to the (completely incorrect) conclusion that this must be the hero they're looking for (though he seemed to have become a she, so congrats to her) and don't say anything.
Basically shenanigans with retired Danny Fenton working on the watchtower in peace while Dani Phantom joins the Justice League after they mistake her for a transgender Danny Phantom.
I'm imagining this going in one of several different routes with some potential overlap.
- Both recognize a ghost is nearby (each other) but the League, upon realizing that Danny Fenton comes from a family of Ghost Hunters that span back to 1600s with Jack Fentonightingale, thus assuming it's best to keep Danny oblivious to Dani's existence but they can't keep each other oblivious forever.
- The Watchtower is under attack by some villains and Danny finds a heavily injured Dani among other heroes. As such Danny becomes angered enough to temporarily bring his old hero persona out of the closet (possibly going as far as showing his Ghost King power depending on the villain). Meanwhile the rest of the Justice League are losing their minds over the revelation of them working with the hero's cousin/daughter/clone instead of the original they thought they were working with this entire time.
- One of the supernaturally powerful JL members (John Constantine, Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Shazam, take your pick) recognize that the new employee radiates the same ghostly power as Dani, only stronger before recognizing him as the Ghost King.
- Dani and Danny meet and have their Spider-Man pointing meme moment before nigh-immediately realizing that the League have mistaken Dani for Danny. Thus they immediately realize after that realization they can use this to completely mess with them since they're still unaware.
Probably more ideas but I'll leave that for you to imagine.
I've seen Danny working on the watchtower, both as Fenton for a casual position and as Phantom as a League member. So why not both at the same time only it's Dani Phantom and not Danny.

Haunted City
Danny could admit that pretending to be a "regular ghost" was pretty fun. He could hide in one place and scare people who were waiting for an open door and a creepy laugh.
Honestly, Danny could do a lot more than that, the ghosts people believed in were nothing like the ones he knew. He wondered if there were simply different types of ghosts, or supernatural creatures; it was quite likely, considering that the ghosts of the Realms weren't even of the same dimension so it wasn't a fair comparison.
Anyway, the halfa had spent a couple of days "haunting" Gotham. The place was too leggy and they needed a little excitement in their lives. Of course, this led to some rumors about a spirit suffering or something similar, he didn't really care.
The "heroes" of Gotham didn't seem to share his opinion, going through all the places that had been "attacked" (they were just jokes) and looking for some explanation before calling Justice League Dark, Danny had fun scaring them a little in the process.
But he wasn't too interested in being exorcised, banished or whatever they did with rebel ghosts, so he settled on a mansion that was too big for its few inhabitants. Scaring billionaires was almost therapeutic, although the butler didn't seem too impressed by his (minimal) efforts.

Danny Phantom doesn’t want to be king.
And the Observants also don’t want him to be king.
Frankly, very VERY few people want him to be king, dead or alive.
But opening the sarcophagus, even if it’s closed NOW, disrupted some magic protections. Until those can be fixed, summoning spells need to be answered by SOMEONE. Not all of summons, just like—once a month or so. Because if they don’t let that power outlet happen, all of those summon magics build up and suddenly Pariah Dark reigns again. Answering the summon basically dispels the built up magic, like opening a dam.
Again, Danny doesn’t WANT to do this either, but everyone else involved is a bad choice. He won’t even be named prince, because THEN that implies he COULD be king. He needs a title, of some kind, a position in the court, no matter how tenuous, so he can do the thing. Something where no one in their right or even WRONG mind would think to try to kill him for the position or try to marry him or something equally annoying to deal with.
So.
He becomes the Ghost Court Jester.
He even gets a fancy little outfit upgrade when he’s summoned, all black and white bell hats and shoes, a stupid little ruffle collar and black parachute pants, even face paint with a tiny dot of glowing neon green at the tip of his nose. The works. Better yet, if he hasn’t been ‘unsummoned’, his human form is just the exact same costume with swapped colors. He can change into his normal outfits, but until that circle has been disrupted, the next summon, or the next full or new moon, he’s stuck into the outfit when he first transforms from either form.
The Phantom Jester, which is a title more intimidating than Danny appears to be if we are to be honest, cracks jokes and never, EVER takes the summons seriously.
“Listen, I just had to get my hours in and it’s the last day of the lunar month, you got lucky I came at all.”
“I got the position by virtue of not wanting to go to Time Jail for a crime I technically didn’t commit and technically probably won’t but, well, eyes are the beholder of the grudge or something else equally cryptic to make you mad.”
“Is this a slumber party? … do you have cake? Bummer. Well, enjoy the bleeding walls then.”
“Whether I help you or not is entirely dependent on how well of a run down you can give me on this book I have to read that I have not at all touched.”
“Explain the reason in three sentences or less. I suggest less. And if it’s stupid I’m hitting you—oh you think this circle can contain me? Haha. It won’t.”
“Is that chicken blood? Why?? What did the chickens do to you?”
There are props in his costume but he literally never knows what he’s gonna pull out of his sleeves. Danny can’t even do a balloon animal and knows exactly zero card tricks, which would be more of an issue if the cards weren’t the size of a dinner plate. He barely even juggles and he’s honestly probably just utilizing his rarely-used telekinetic powers, but he does give people flowers if they haven’t been a total jerk. And if those flowers are like, rare and have seeds for propagation, well… he literally wouldn’t know. No, really, he doesn’t. He gets summoned by at least two ecology departments and he has no idea why, I mean, if he had a nickel—
He also had pies and is NOT afraid to use them.

Alternatively, Boxy is very proud of Danny for adulting, and helps him move. It takes Danny longer than he'd like to admit to realize there are more boxes than there should be. When he asks the Box Ghost just says they are a house warming gift. (he does take the empty boxes back when everything is unpacked tho)
Do you think when Danny grows up, would he move into his new apartment by shoving his stuff into barrels to avoid transporting the Box Ghost?
Imagine moving into your college dorm and a dude comes in with barrels of stuff.
Wild.

DPxDC Prompt: Ghostly News Update
One day John Constantine finds a letter on the table in the House of Mystery addressed to Deadman. He calls for the ghost, and they open it together and are shocked to read the following message.
"Dear Mr. Deadman,
Since you reside primarily on Earth you most likely haven't heard the news. Pariah Dark has been defeated in one on one combat, and his title of king has been passed on. Long may reign the new King Phantom, Ruler of the Infinite Realms.
Unlike his predecessor, Phantom has no interest in conquest nor does he aim for more power. He is also quite fond of humans, and is even known to protect a small town in the United States of America, despite with the Anti-Ecto Laws the local government has passed (Claiming any being containing ectoplasm to be non-sentient thus has no rights. It is recommended you stay out of Illinois for this reason).
Keep up the good work in the Justice League Dark, and if you have any further questions feel free to call us at 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx."
The message is typed out, except for a hand written addition at the bottom.
"P.S. If you could get the JL to do something about those laws that would be great :)
-Phantom"

Danny is technically immune to the common superhero trap of being put in a dangerous situation as their civilian identity that they could easily handle in their superhero identity but wouldn't make sense for them as civilians to know. And the way Danny is immune to it is Danny has been through so many things in Amity Park just as Fenton that he could say he got the skills from. Or if in a different situation he could just say he learned the skill by proxy, "how did he take down the kidnappers." His ex-girlfriend as well as his mother were trained martial artist. "How did he hack into the system." His best friend is a wiz at computers. "How did he catch the ghost." He grew up in a family of ghost hunters. And so on
how on earth did this man evade a gas attack AND save 16 civilians single handedly? Simple. He's had to do crowd control to protect people from his parents ghost capturing rampages.

dc x dp prompt: instead of constantine or batman or billy being the one who knows about Ghost Stuff, it's the speedsters, because clockwork is the one who has to deal with all the Time Paperwork their nonsense creates and danny keeps getting sent in about it.
(I had more but honestly I think it's more fun to see the very different directions people go with less specific prompts :) )
!!! Oh this is so sick!!! Maybe the GZ works in parallel with the speedforce? Something of the sort? Either way this is such a neat idea :)

Tim is interviewing applicants for Wayne Enterprises space program, and one sticks out.
Daniel Nightingale freely admits that he has a heart condition.
Tim, of course, mentally slots him in the "tech support" part if his brain, and asks why he'd want to work in a field where that would not only be a huge drawback, but a death sentence if even the slightest thing went wrong.
Hes given a lot of reasons, baseless reassurances that he'd totally be fine, and at the end, very quietly, Nightingale mutters something Tim's pretty sure he wasn't supposed to hear.
"And...I'd like to go...home."
Shit. Fuck. This guy's an alien and he's stranded, and Tim has to speak to J'onn like yesterday.
Danny, however, with a space core, had just trailed off in his rambling and side mindedly mentioned that
"And with my core I'd like to go cuz it feels like home."
