I don’t know how much time has passed since artificial intelligence took over everything I knew to be mankind’s responsibilities.

I watched as people—people I knew-–get sacked from their jobs, the awful excuse of “We’ve found someone better.” being used over and over again. In reality, it wasn’t someone. It was something. As society lost their jobs, everyone waited in fear for the outcome, machinery now taking over everything we knew to be human’s. What does one do now?

Practically useless bags of flesh and skin, roaming a world that was robbed by robots. AI made by humans, and now we watch in silence as they destroy their creators. From their lessons, they learned how to take everything from us. Rich, soulless men who kept developing such things, thinking it would be for the greater good—and in the end, it would only be the downfall of mankind.

No matter how many protests, no matter how many warnings, no matter anything anyone did, they never listened. They didn’t care for the people–they cared about the money and the power gained from the lifeless pieces of metal they created. And now, everything has gone to ruins because they left our words on deaf ears. Who’s to blame?

Maybe society. We kept using AI in daily life, making the future generations weak and unable to do simple things, having to depend on bots to function. Maybe the government. Enforcing AI in every little thing, the outcome just like the others.

Because, what our generation does now, will always bleed through and affect the future. The children who learned from us. The children that depend on us. The children we failed to protect. These robots now, they have taken over. These children will not know about the life before AI. The life before robots marched the street, before smoke filled the air and no one knew anything anymore.

Robots held that information. Humans were just feeble leeches, feeding off the fake news. At least they knew something. Even if they were all lies. And those lies spread, mouth to ear, they spread like a forest fire. No water to stop it all.
