.: ♫ — When Sonja turned to look over at him, she wasn't going to say anything. She just liked looking at him- and she was a bit curious if he was actually going to walk out with his crazy bed hair. It always made her laugh. But what she saw wasn't what she expected. His hair down- in a ponytail. And while it wasn't like she never saw him this way... He just looked so cute, so nice-- it just made her flustered looking at him.
So desperately, her gaze wandered back to the cheesy omelet that she was making. She had brought up the kittens in an attempt to not make it obvious how flustered she was. Sonja began doing her own thing and he did too. And all was going to be fine...
She felt his arms wrap around her once again, something that he used to do before he got distant. He seemed pretty hesitant, but... He stayed. He was staying here. With her. And another smile graced her lips. You’ve gotten really good at staying. A sense of peace washed over her as she was doing something she loved while the love of her life stood right next to her.
"Ah?" She moved a little, glancing at Zavier. Was he... Embarrassed? About what? Sonja's eyebrow quirked in amusement as she plated Zavier's omelet. "Did you think of something? What's up?"

.: ♫ — Hearing him respond to her made her get redder than a tomato. She woke him up! She woke him up and now she felt.... Really flustered about it. “Ah, I’m sorry. Sometimes I forget you’re just as much of a light sleeper as I am...” She said sheepishly.
It was then that Zachi rushed into the room, practically leaping on their bed and meowed at them. Demanding that their kittens be fed. Sonja laughed again, amused about how much Zachi’s demeanor changed once he and Nia had kittens. Briefly, she wondered if Zavier would be the same way. Given how much he frets over small things, maybe. It was definitely an amusing thought.
She was pulled away from her thoughts by the kiss he gave her. And she was red again, though she smiled. Things really did seem to get better now, weren’t they? As he talked to the cat, she sat up and stretched. He really was a dork sometimes. Talking to cats. Though, it’s not like she didn’t talk to their cats either. “Oh, yeah. I will.” she replied in response to his question.
The new nickname surprised her, though... It was nice. She liked it. It was better than shortcake, and... Well, bluebirds stood for happiness, didn’t they? Maybe to him, she was a bluebird-- his bluebird of happiness. With a small smile, she looked at her bracelet. “I ‘ll be down in a second, though you can heat up the pumpkin bread for us to eat--! Thanks a lot, love.”
It took her more than a second to get down, but Nia’s steps fell in line with hers as she walked down the stairs. She was really happy that they were settling into their new family. Sonja fixed up the cat food right away, and soon enough, the cats were eating their fill. Ah, wouldn’t it be nice to be eating with a family one day? Just to talk over good food and enjoy each other’s company.
Well, maybe for another time.
When Zavier arrived downstairs, she looked over at him. How was he wearing his hair today, she wondered. It really didn’t matter, but she was more than a little curious. But instead of calling attention to it, she just began making breakfast. “We still haven’t decided on names for the little ones,” she reminded him with a smile. “What do you think they should be?”

.: ♫ — Morning came, and Sonja slowly gained some consciousness. It was hard, waking up now, but she would have to push through it. But.... Then she felt something that she hadn’t felt in a while.
Warmth.
The feeling of a body against hers. Arm wrapped around her waist. She wasn’t facing him, but... She knew he was there. And gods, did she miss this. The feeling of warmth. With a soft smile, she turned around to see his sleeping face. Peaceful. The light that filtered through the curtains filled this room in a soft light. It was something she almost forgot.
Sonja moved slightly, so that she could caress his face. She had to stop herself from giggling at his horrendous bedhair he always managed to get. But she just stayed quiet for a while, admiring her lover next to her.
But then the mewling of kittens came from downstairs, reminding her that there were people that need to be fed-- and she should work on breakfast. She stayed there for a couple more seconds, before actually moving to get up. Though, she found that she couldn’t actually get up. That’s right, she always struggled against this.
The thought made her laugh softly, trying to stifle it so that she wouldn’t wake her partner up. In the end, Sonja gave up rather quickly, and instead settled on getting closer to him, wrapping an arm around him too. It was like a hug, of sorts. But before she settled completely, she took one good look at him once more. And then she kissed Zavier on the forehead.
"I love you,” she whispered, as if he were awake. “I missed you.”

.: ♫ — It wasn’t until late that day that she came back home. Sonja was hoping that today she could spend a little more time with him, and just enjoying each other’s company... But as she suspected, he wanted to be alone for a bit. The amount of chocolate milk boxes was alarming, but she decided to never press on it either. With a sigh, she walked up the stairs to her room.
This must have been how he felt while she was doing the same thing, she realized as she sat down on her bed and looked up at the ceiling. The feeling of being useless and not being able to do anything about it. Still, she convinced herself that she was the only one who had problems speaking about her emotions. He never did. Or else, he wouldn’t have confided in her about his problems before they got together.
She sighed again. The fact was, though, that this did upset her. She was worried. But now she didn’t want to tell him either. What was she gonna do, beg for him to tell her about his problems? Gods, she didn’t want to. That would be too much. Zavier was his own person who deserved to have his own choices about who he talks to about these things.
And if that wasn’t her, that would be okay.
This would be okay.
This is okay.
Right?
It was then that she noticed a folded letter on her nightstand. Her eyebrows raised slightly in mild shock, and she reached out for it. When her hand hovered over it, she hesitated. Suddenly, anxiety ran through her-- and Nia must have known how apprehensive she was feeling because she felt something furry rub against her bare leg. Comfort, that’s right. Comfort in the small things. But what was in this letter? She was scared to find out, but she had to read it. If she didn’t then how would he feel?
Her eyes drifted along the paper. The first words she read made her confused, but she had to press on, despite all of this anxiety building up within her. And within a couple of minutes, she was done. And she didn’t know what she felt. She wasn’t... Upset, she thought. Just. Feeling something. She wasn’t angry. Or sad. Just... Feeling.
Sonja reread the letter again, just to understand it better. The emotions that went into putting it. She still couldn’t piece together what she felt. Though the more she looked over it, the more she wanted to say something in reply. But she couldn’t... Say it. That would be hard. For both of them.
No, instead, she headed downstairs once more, gently placing the letter back down on her night stand. Sonja looked for a paper of her own, and a pen to write with. There was something she had to say. And maybe make too. It was never to late to stress-bake.
The smell of fresh pumpkin spice bread filled the kitchen as it began to bake in the oven. It was always good for toast, and honey whip along side it made it to be an excellent treat in the morning. Zavier would like it, hopefully.
She sat down to write, glancing at her blue feather bracelet. But how could she put her thoughts, her feelings in to words when she couldn’t even describe them herself. Still, she began to write:
I’m not angry or sad. Please don’t apologize if you decide to talk to someone else about your personal life. It’s your choice, and I will always support you in your decisions.
A pause. This got so formal, really quick. Was she actually that upset?
It’s not my business whatever you decide to do with
Wait, he wanted to just tell her about these things, and just be honest. That wasn’t the point of it. She crossed it out, just enough that if you squint maybe he’d be able to tell what she wrote there.
It’s not my business whatever you decide to do with I’m happy you’re rekindling your relationship with Mist. I think it’s important, you know! Or at least, trying to reach out to each other. In the end, that’s what matters, right?
Though, she did mind being left in the dark. It wasn’t nice. Then again, maybe it’s her just desserts for doing that so long too.
And thank you so much, for telling me. It must have been hard for you to do this.
Was that all? Rereading it over again, she sighed. This wasn’t it. What else... What else? She crossed it out again, frustrated that unlike him, she had trouble with her words.
And thank you so much, for telling me. It must have been hard for you to do this.
Happy White Day.
I’m proud of you.
... She wanted to write something else there, but as he never said it in his letter, would it even be alright to say it in hers? Sonja just shook her head, settling on the words “Happy White Day.” Sonja stayed up for a bit longer, just to make sure that the pumpkin spice bread was good before cutting it up into slices and placing it in the fridge. On the fridge whiteboard, she made a little doodle of a pumpkin and bread, with a smiley face. That was enough to get the message across.
And with that, she left the note for him to read on the kitchen counter, heading back upstairs for another dreamless sleep.

“Hm… Not this particular dream. I’ve had dreams about things happening, here and there… But with this dream… It was like the voice of the island was trying to tell me something. At least, that’s one way to explain what I felt.”
“…In other words, I don’t really have a goal in mind for this walk- I’m just out here to listen. If I’m told to wind up going in a certain direction, I will. And if not… Well, I suppose I’ll have at least tired myself out enough to head home and fall back asleep.”
Mist wondered if Sonja would understand any of that. Typically when she explained these kinds of things, people would just call her strange.
.: ♫ — The voice of the island was trying to tell her something... That was concerning. Sonja was never the kind to have dreams like that of any sort, but she could certainly sense if something was up if that were the case. She nodded, though her gaze drifted around her again, to see if she could feel any anomaly from somewhere.
“I understand,” she replied softly, still focusing her efforts. “Though I can’t feel anything happening... anywhere.” Turning to Mist, her lips drew into a thin line. “Was there any... place you were at in the dream? Maybe that would be a good place to start.... You might be able to hear clearer there.”
It wasn’t too odd for her to hear such things, after all. With the way she grew up, the concept of feeling and hearing the spirits wasn’t strange at all.

“Hmm… Well who can say?” Mist said. “I get rather peculiar dreams rather often, you know. Sometimes they don’t mean anything at all. Other times…” Mist let that sentence trail off, giving a short little shrug with her shoulders.
“…Whatever the case may be, I always feel better if I investigate these sorts of things. Whenever I feel restless, I like to take a walk around, to make sure nothing’s amiss. Sometimes I make interesting discoveries, but most of the time, nothing of note happens, other than I lose out on a little bit of sleep. If I’m very lucky, I might be able to drag a friend along with me.”
At that last part, Mist turned towards Sonja and winked.
.: ♫ — Sonja hummed in thought. If it was just a random dream, then it would be fine. But it seemed Mist was a bit worried too, given the fact she was actually outside today. Hopefully nothing bad happens, she didn’t feel or see anything happen... But...
“Well it’s not like I’m doing much right now, besides losing a bit of sleep. Not like I could sleep right now anyways...” She paused. “Though have you had this dream before? Or... Something similar?”

Rosalind hummed in confirmation, “Yeah, I suppose it would be a club, wouldn’t it?” She pondered softly. She’d never been in a club before. She could see, and hear, the hesitation from Sonja, and smiled reassuringly at her.
“It was just a thought I had in the moment,” she said, “I don’t think I’d know enough people for this kind of thing, either. Unless you put out some kind of advertisement…” She trailed off, thinking momentarily, “It’s entirely up to you, though! I think there’s enough room for different clubs, and is a sweet appreciation society going to get in the way of the Cooking Club? It’s a pretty specific interest.”
.: ♫ — Sonja nodded, mulling over her words for a few moments. She was right, it was a pretty specific interest, and maybe advertising through the Cooking Club just might work to get more people.
It’s decided!
“We should do it!” Sonja grinned. Rosalind’s thoughts had convinced her entirely. “It sounds like fun, and a way to meet more people, and maybe we could have taste testing sessions, and baking sessions, and- oh- I’m getting excited already!”
Tapping her chin a bit, she began, “Well, we’d need to decide on a place and a meeting time, potentially. And maybe some weekly or monthly activities we could do...”

lest-i-forget:
“Whoa!”
“You got engaged?! Congratulations! That’s gotta be exciting! Does that bracelet have anything to do with it?” Of course, Lest didn’t know the tradition of proposing with a blue feather. Instead, he wondered if it was perhaps some sort of gift from her fiance, or if there was some sort of story to go along with it.
“…Wait! Did you say Frey?!”
“No way! Frey’s one of the first people I met- after you of course. I actually work for her now, but outside of that, we’re really good friends! That’s got to be some sort of crazy coincidence.” Almost as crazy as having two amnesiacs show up on the same island around the same time, give or take a few days.
.: ♫ — Sonja grinned as she handed him a ram cake with a spoon, giggling a bit. “Thanks! It is a really big deal, I think! And yeah it does!” Sonja figured that he might not have known, she didn’t either when she came here. She had to learn from other people, so why not help him out too?
“On Arcadia, they have a tradition of proposing with a blue feather. Though I’m not exactly sure why... It’s cute though! My fiance is from here, so he gave me a blue feather I keep at home~”
Though that thought was cut short when Lest began getting excited about Frey. “Oh! Wow, small world huh?” Sonja laughed a bit. “I was the one that helped her to the nurse when she washed ashore some time before I met you. I was checking up on her but I guess they released her on the day that I met you!”
She smiled softly at the thought. “I‘m honestly really glad that both of you are doing alright now. It seems that both of you got settled!”

[ ♥ ] — Felicity nods and clears her throat a bit, fighting back the urge to gag. Ah, she hated milk. It was probably the one thing in the world she could, without hesitation, actually could say she hated.
“Yes, sweets and foods with milk in them are fine, it just can’t be enough where the milk is still overly present.” She looks to the other girl with a smile, “That’s it, though! I can eat pretty much anything else.”
.: ♫ — Sonja nodded, taking that into note. Miss Felicity doesn’t like milk. In actuality, hates it. “Alright then. And don’t worry about it too much- I get the same way with seaweed. It’s gross.” She made a face, as if to emphasize that she absolutely hated the stuff.
“So, when should we start?” Sonja smiled. “I run a cafe on Elysia, maybe we could meet there?”

heartofshale:
Oh, I wouldn’t know. I do not hold all the answers to each question the world has to ask. But if you were to ask me, from one stranger to another…
“You live.”
Silence. The wind blows, plants swaying in the breeze. Crickets creek, and stray fireflies dance.
“You live and live and live and keep moving forward, as you ought to not let your weights chain you down. Define you. Otherwise you’ll be going nowhere.”
Easier said than done, that, for a man who held so much guilt it nearly suffocates him. Crushes his very soul. Then he pondered, just what troubled the young woman’s mind. Of course he would have no idea to what it would be like to be in her shoes, or in her life- but all pain is relative.
We all suffer the same, in a way.
“Pain fades away…does it not? It’s only the person who decides to hold on to it on their on.”
Each person goes through their own trials and tribulations, their very own tale. In the many stories he heard, and the people he had met in his lifetime– Lloyd knew no two people were exact. This wasn’t a contest of who had suffered the most or the least, who held out the biggest trophy of their badges of turmoil and anguish- as it was all the same in the end. We all suffer the same, in a way.
“Just be…kind to yourself. If you cannot manage to do so, then you shall spend your days wandering around aimlessly in life as a husk until your body turns into dust.”
And with that, Lloyd had said his peace. Pivoting his foot to turn around to leave, he states his goodbyes. It wasn’t in his place to be there for her if she didn’t want him around. As he respects space. Space. And the stars. “I wish you luck.”
.: ♫ — Live.
From the very beginning, she had a hard time doing that. Her life was snatched away, making her live for others. She was never able to live for herself, not until now. And even then, within dreams, thoughts of paranoia.... She could still feel their eyes burning into her to this day. Vivid memories gave way to horrible thoughts, thoughts of her own existence. Would it be ok if she was never here? Would it be ok if she had stayed behind?
Her hand drifted to the scar on her nose. What would have happened if she had stayed behind? She would never know. The man continued talking. Living, moving forward. Never getting hung up on past grievances. These chains defined her. It was her for a whole eighteen years of her life.
It was a terrible time. So... Why did she have such a hard time letting go? She needed to. But she was the only one who kept these chains. The chains that held her back, all the way back home. What could she do?
Be kind to yourself.
That was much harder than she could ever imagine of herself doing. But... She wished he could. There were things that held her back.
She held herself back.
Hearing him turn around, Sonja looked up at him. But he was already walking away. She stood up, watching him walking away wordlessly.
Speak, so you can taste what it is to live.
Boldly, she called out to him, “Thank you...! Thank you very much, sir!”

gun-nun:
The nun had sighed, as this younger woman was starting to sound like somebody else she known. Always smiling, even whenever things were dire. Clearly, there must be something more behind those mask of a grin– but it wasn’t in Aurelia’s place to mess with it. “I’m well, thanks to you. Though I think you ought to take it easy.” She looks over towards the loot she could collect from the monster she had slain not too long ago. It wasn’t much. But it’ll do. Kneeling over, she picks up some random nic-knacks to perhaps sell later. Or to keep. “Thank you again, Sonja.”
“Now… pray do tell, why are you in these mines? It doesn’t look like a place for someone like you should be. Of course, I’m not doubting your skills or anything… You just don’t strike me as the kind of person who would go up and fight.”
.: ♫ — Sonja watched her as she picked up the rest of the loot, a bit awkward. Should she leave now, or...?
But Aurelia started speaking to her again, and she beamed right at her. Another thank you. “It’s no problem really! I love helping people out when I get the chance.” To tell the truth, she was getting a bit bashful from both of those thanks. It wasn’t too often she heard one.
Then she asked her another question. “Oh- No, it’s fine! You’re fine. I was just exploring the mines-- I hadn’t really been here all too often. I can hold my own on a fight--” she raised her fists up-- “but the ideal is to not get into one, of course!” She laughed.
“I just want to have a little adventure you know? How about you, though? Did you come down here for any reason?”

geode-x-dude:
They were living together for HOW LONG? Seven months was quite a long time for Gray to not know about such an important development in Sonja’s life, wasn’t it? Was she trying to keep it a secret? While Gray acted like an older brother, it wasn’t like he was actually related to her. He supposed she didn’t exactly have a responsibility to tell him, but a text or phone call would have worked just as well…
Still, he couldn’t be mad. From the way Sonja was talking about they guy, he seemed decent enough. Gray let out a small sigh as he ate some more of his cake. He finished the food in his mouth before speaking. “Well, it sounds like you like him a lot, so I won’t say anything mean. I’m glad you guys are happy.” It was the least he could do, being the emotionally unavailable person he was. Wishing happiness on a couple was the right thing to do. “When’s the wedding?” He was teasing, of course, but his stoic expression didn’t lend for much clue about the joke.
.: ♫ — Sonja noticed the evident shock on his face, and couldn’t help but feel absolutely terrible about leaving him in the dark like that. But she was sure he was busy, and so never really bothered to call... Still. She scratched her head sheepishly, mentally saying “Sorry” to him.
But her excitement grew when Gray had “approved” of their relationship. Even if they weren’t blood related, she still thought of him like an older brother, so it would be exciting. She was grinning ear to ear until--
“Gray!!” she whined, having half a mind to throw something at him. Her cheeks were flush, and she hastily ate another bite of strawberry cake to calm herself down. Jeez...
Swallowing it down, she continued, “We- I don’t think we have even thought that far! I mean, what if he doesn’t want to marry me- or some things need to be sorted out- or-” Whoops.

“Ah, yes, that’s right~ It’s all coming back to me now.” Childhood memories, stored away for a little under a decade, began rising to the surface of her recollection, one by one. Some of them were rather humorous, actually, and she couldn’t help but give a small little chuckle.
“Hmm… No, I don’t mind sharing. My dream was a nightmare too- but of a different sort, I suppose,” she said. “In my dream, I was walking, kind of like we are now. Then, suddenly, a collection of spirits in the form of a runey popped up from the ground like a spring turnip.”
She giggled. “I’ve read about runeys before, but I’d never seen one. However, there it was. It popped right out of the ground, and floated around me a bit, before heading up into the sky to join the stars. Then, another one popped up! More and more began sprouting out of the ground, and flying up into the sky. It was quite pretty at first, but eventually I realized that if they kept flying away like that, there wouldn’t be any spirits left on the ground! I tried calling them back, but they wouldn’t listen to me- and more and more just vanished into the night sky.
“Suddenly, there was a giant earthquake! The ground began opening up underneath my feet, and water gushed up from under it, nearly drowning me as it flooded the entire area. I woke up petrified!”
.: ♫ — Sonja kept her gaze on Mist as she went on about her dream, thinking hard about what it could mean. She always was the type about dreams meaning something, somehow. It was true she’d never seen a runey before, but she at least knew what they looked like... The visual of one popping out of the ground like a spring turnip was amusing and put a smile on her face, at least.
Though the thought grew more concerning as more and more of them came out, almost draining the land of its much needed energy... And it seems that Mist had the same thought too. It almost made her paranoid, looking around to double check that everything was still fine.
It was, but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t double check.
Looking back at Mist, she frowned. “I’d understand why, the mere thought of spirits leaving the earth would be bad... Do you think it means anything?”

「 founding celebration dance 2019 ❧ sonja seraphina rostellaire 」
.: ♫ — The dance itself was exciting, if not a bit daunting due to the fact she would be going there alone. Sonja was a bit worried about leaving Zavier alone in the mood he was in-- she noticed the abnormal amount of chocolate milk in the trash-- but after his insistence, she left for the dance.
She wanted to dance with him at the end of the night, but now what would she do? Pulling her bolero closer to her chest, she looked around. Hopefully it would but just as fun as she expected...
It would be hard as her thoughts drifted back to his state at home. But he was the type who wanted to be left alone when he was feeling bad. At least, that’s what she told herself. Out of the two of them, she was the one with the problem of not telling him things. And he had no problem speaking his mind.
... It would be fine, right?
