It is so refreshing to be able to listen to another album all the way through like it is one clump of music and not segregated into songs. Every step of Soft Sounds from Another Planet transcended me higher into the sky until I was dancing under the full moon.

Felt some Justine Kurland vibes from this one…am I allowed to say that?

Appreciation for all of the amazing things I ate today
English muffin with strawberry jelly and butter,
A warm latte from a mug,
My own homemade cucumber salad with kimchi,
Peppered salami with triscuits and cheese,
A california roll,
A mango lemonade,
And my mom’s homemade chicken soup.
Life is so fucking good man.

In small moments of growth,
my conscious is freed from this vessel
And I watch my own body, appearing so small,
So suddenly, but obviously a child
Like I’m viewing myself through shinier eyes,
harder diamonds from the years of pressure
And my body is leaping over decisions
Decisions I wasn’t aware were only stepping stones
But I am powerless to give her a trail of clarity

Becoming aware of you in every pair of 2
How is it that
we can’t help but see bits of them
in everything we do?
Like a reflex, a muscle memory, or
a neural network, awakened from a deep sleep
We find them in song lyrics,
in movies,
in everything traveling in pairs of two
Once we fall,
Everything holds so much more sentiment
Value that we can’t believe
was ever veiled from view
There’s a newfound beauty to life
A newfound shine to even the mundane, mindless living
Because they become our jewels,
Our pearls,
Our silver and gold,
Even on days the world didn’t guarantee you any happiness,
success,
Rewards for your grit,
Our love’s arms still lie waiting,
Waiting to embrace the vessel of reciprocated love that is your body.
Harbored intently for them.
