She feels sick; how had they managed it? Anna had been walking past, when she came upon someone who (goodness only knows how) had broken a bone. “It’s so ugly, it’d scare a buzzard off a dirt pile.” Anna complains, looking to the other woman. She’s so far been unable to help, unable to touch the other person for fear of skin contact. “Should Ah go get someone?”

Tilting her head slightly as she looked at the figure, Sharon sighed. “Seriously, can I help you with something?” She questioned titling her head the other way. “Honestly, I don’t think it’s supposed to do that.”

“I”m one of five telepathic quintuplets, mutants. A lot of people are uncomfortable around us in practice, and we sometimes pick up stray thoughts in the environment,” Sophie clarified. There was more, of course, but that didn’t need to be mentioned in polite conversation.

Anna raises an eyebrow. “That’s quite somethin’.” She recalls the time she used to wish she had siblings herself; probably wouldn’t have worked out well, given that she had to leave. “Ah absorb energy, memories, n’ powers when people touch mah skin. Ah can read their thoughts when in direct contact with me, and after that, Ah’m left with a mini them, stuck in mah head. It’s why Ah wear these gloves.” Anna explains, pulling them up as a force of habit.

“Flop.” he reiterated, “Seems more apt given the state of the place right now.” He nodded, “Well that makes sense, though I’m kinda disappointed you didn’t out to be a mad stalker.” he added wryly, “Ah yes, the fabled dance outfit. You know it’s kinda hard pulling people out from under rubble in dollar skates, who knew?”

Anna chuckles; he’s good.  “Ah know the feelin’. Got trapped under rubble ‘cos o’ my stupid dress, ended up causin’ more harm than good.” She mumbles bitterly. She recalls the night vividly, the look on her face turning from one of good humour to a grimace. Anna looks to him, feigning a smile. “At least no one was gravely injured.”

Josh doesn’t know what’s wrong. For all his abilities the thoughts of others are still a mystery to him. But she’s clearly upset about something. When she looked to him he could see she was scared, so he gathered his weary powers and forced a little more of his healing energy into her, aiming to calm her somewhat, or at least enough to be able to speak with him. “It’s alright, it���s all alright, I’m here. You’re going to be okay now.” he told her.

She can feel it beginning to subside; the rage is calming, the screaming voice is fading, and she’s beginning to return to normal now. When she is finally able to, Anna takes a deep breathe in, before looking to him thankfully. Whatever Josh did, it had helped to calm him down. “How’d ya do that?”

She begins to laugh. “Ah never watched either, so Ah don’t know. That impression is amazin’ though.”

“Uhh… No. That’s Harry Potter. Star Wars is the one with the Jedi’s and the Sith and the lightsabers that go- wooooooo-hooooooooo-wooooooo.” Josh moved his hands a little as he made the noise.

“I’m not in much of a position to judge, on a number of levels,” Sophie pressed a hand to her chest. “You’re not obligated, of course, but you won’t get any silly sapien flailing here.”

“What d’ya mean by that?” She questions, frowning.

Anna bites her lip. “My power’s a bit more difficult t’ control than most peoples.”

“So what d’ya fancy gettin’?” She asks, holding onto his arm. Anna’s leading Matt to a small town just outside the campus, finding herself growing sick of the crummy university food. She could use a trip outside, anyway.

Anna laughs quietly, shaking her head. “Ya’ve got a point, sugah.”

"I regret everything."

“You don’t regret being my roommate, though, do you?” He grins.

There’s a hint of a smile on her face. “Ain’t a life worth livin’ unless ya’ve got no regrets.” She knows it too well.

She’s been struggling to keep her eyes open all night, but she must’ve fallen asleep; Anna awakens, slightly startled, to find Josh next to her. Seeing him, she remembers everything; she has no idea how much he knows of her ordeal, but she hopes it isn’t much. Looking to her hands, Anna’s eyes widen when she finds her gloves gone. Where are they?

Kate grinned, bouncing on the balls of her feet for a moment before talking. “Well I came to SU to try and help people. Whether through court or by being a hero is still a bit undecided. This hall way however… I dunno? Honeslty I kind of zoned out while wandering.”

Anna chuckles.”Huh, interestin’. I like that answer. Best one Ah’ve had so far. So you’re a buddin’ lawyer?”
