I was telling my uncle who dropped by for a visit that I had been given the option to do an outdoor or indoor work assignment next week and chose to do the indoor again because of the heat predictions—even though I would have been down to do more of the outdoor since it’s been a while. And then my mom scoffed and went to go like that was a ridiculous thing to do. And so I stopped what I was saying and said to my uncle “she never respects my work choices”.

I’ve had issues in the past where she would tell me I should accept work more often (i’m on call) even when i’m already working 5days/week and they were just offering additional work because they were short staffed. We’ve addressed that issue already, but clearly she still has opinions on how I should be making different choices. Anyways, she took offense to me saying that she didn’t respect my choices, even though she scoffed at my “excuse” of hot weather being a deterrent to wanting to work outside. Meanwhile everyone else is warning people about the heatwave and humidity dome.
