productivity hack

Create a Google doc, Notion page, or whatever workspace you use and name it “Things I’m afraid to do.” Here, you can put whatever has been on your mind that you’re putting off and procrastinating—such as a big project, studying, essay, or whatever you have that’s been nagging you.

By acknowledging the fact that the task seems daunting, you are actually working through the first step of accomplishing it. It makes large projects seem just a little more doable solely because I named it something that amuses me. 

For example, I was so anxious in asking a professor for a recommendation, so I put it in my “things I’m afraid to do.” Little by little each day, I drafted the email to send to them and ended up not procrastinating. Hope this helps!

if you can understand all cops are bastards due to all cops upholding the same system of oppression, you should be able to comprehend why the US military is indefensible and that people who murder for imperialists are not the victims in this situation, even if you were doing it to help yourself financially. no one would praise you for saying "I decided to be a serial killer to pay for college", but if you're aiding a war machine killing millions of innocent people somehow it's justified? do you think children whose countries are bombed and torn apart by the US military don't also wish they could get an education?

i know the reason polaroids are still cool among youth today has a lot to do with nostalgia and romanticising the past but god. someone took a polaroid picture of me and gave it to me and... it’s my favourite picture of me. no hd selfie i’ve taken is anything compared to this. in the polaroid picture i look like a person... a simple and an ordinary and a happy person, worthy of love, full of life and full of time and in the middle of the worthy task of living as the photo was taken. i just. it’s not vanity. it’s like... sometimes a good candid photo of yourself can be moving, and can make you appreciate yourself for who you are in the world.

dear everyone, please ask someone who cares about you to secretly take a photo of you sometime and show it to you. it might just be the most precious photo of you you’ll ever see
