As protests against injustice in legal system, discrimination, police brutality spread through the US, it is necessary to educate yourself about these issues.
Here are just a few book recommendations (there are so much more out there), include both non-fiction and fiction about racism and challenges that black people face throughout their lifetimes.

Dark times all around but there are still people out there who love you
Do not hurt yourself, do not hurt others, get help, talk to someone, anyone. Humanity has survived before and we can do it now if we all just support each other. My country and my people let me down and endangered my life but there’s nothing I or anyone else can do about that so let’s try to spread the love that is so clearly lacking.

really needed to hear this;; i wanted to do some cliché dark academia stuff and just write poetry on my arms but i feel like i’ll just be attention seeking but at this point, so what. it makes me happy <33
Literally just romanticize your own life. What’s stopping you. Who will care. Commit to enjoying things.

hey there! i’m alex, a new studyblr!
about me
i’m a junior high school student from the philippines! fully bilingual in english and filipino (tagalog).
interests, hobbies, goals
i’m a lettering artist, though i’m trying my hand at gouache and watercolor too
creative journalling enthusiast
naps a lot and falls asleep really easily, so i drink coffee on the daily
i’m into idol animes, mobages, and musicals
a student officer and part of my school’s newpaper and debate team
dreams of pursuing neurobiology as my profession
what to expect
study progress and productivity posts, pictures of my notes
(mediocre for now, i’m doing my best!) essay entries
journal spreads, (the occasional) paintings and lettering artworks
why a studyblr?
i’ve decided i’ve done enough lurking around the studyblr tag and i’ve been interested to create a blog for some time now. i want this to be my creative outlet to share different aspects of my life from and academic and hobbyist perspective, and i want to interact with more people in the community!
blogs that inspired me to create a studyblr:
@studyquill, @naomireads, @philology-studies, @emmastudies, @snakeplantstudy, and many more! i wish to meet more blogs in the future!

#WhatsHappeningInThailand
PLEASE HELP REBLOG THIS POST
Today (October 13, 2020) there was a clash between protesters for democracy, who were preparing for tomorrow’s protest, and police officers. The officers said that the protesters were violating the law, for there would be a royal motorcade later. Unarmed, peaceful activists were brutally arrested, for example, singer Chaiamorn Kaewwiboonpan.
This is what’s happening. This is the real situation.
The protesters’ tents were also destroyed; the officers’ reason being that they were in the way of the royal motorcade. But in reality, those tents are on the footpath.
This video shows the police destroying the protesters’ tents. Rough translation of the caption is “This is too much. The protesters were fucking unarmed. And those are just tents. Why are [the officers] being so goddamn merciless without any caring. #ม็อบ14ตุลา (#Oct14Protest)”
Currently, there are several Twitter hashtags on trending in Thailand and worldwide, including #กษัตริย์ขยะสังคม (transl: MonarchesAreTrashes), #ม็อบ14ตุลา (transl: Oct14Protest), #หยุดคุกคามประชาชน (transl: StopTreatheningThePeople), and #WhatsHappeningInThailand.
*note: the hashtags’ translations are not official, but if possible, please
I know this is not studyblr-related again, but please help spread the news. This is what happening in my country right now. We, the people, only need democracy. And this is what they are doing to us.
Since there is a huge protest tomorrow, I will keep updating this thread.
- P
Here are some information in other languages, too.

14.10.2020 // i cannot keep my focus today.. might just take a couple hours off, an early afternoon break sounds pretty inviting, hopefully it’ll help and i can get cracking on some physiology work
day 14 - What are some of your study essentials?
here’s a little what’s in my pencil case:) it’s what i’d be bringing to uni if we had in person lectures… as it happens, we only have labs rn and i don’t need more than a gel pen and pencil with me, so most of these items have migrated to the drawers of my desk/pencil holders. other essentials i can’t study without include fuzzy socks, my ipad for note taking, and w a t e r (stay hydrated kids, be a hydrohomie (thanks @acadhr for expanding my vocab in the best of ways!))

today’s library study session + the app i’ve been loving !!
this app is called forest! you can set a timer and in that time, it will grow a tree or plant. the more you study, the more plants you will grow ! i love it because i can track how much study i get done each day, and it also acts as a pomodoro timer for me and reminds me to focus. i highly recommend! hope you’re all doing well ❤️
