The oncoming loss of Studio C is really upsetting to me. I know it’s very silly, but I’ve nearly cried over this whole thing... He just means a lot to me, okay!? While I’m glad they’re not destroying the animatronics or anything, it’s just sad to know that he’ll soon be a shell of his former self. I grew up with Studio C and the Avenger era, it’s like a chunk of childhood is soon gonna disappear. I’ll miss seeing that funny lil’ guy sing his songs. :-(
#chuck e cheese#studio c#cec#animatronic#loads of feelings in this post sry guys LOL#im glad that the older guys will continue to be programmed though#i still have time to someday see a 3 stage

one of the guys working at the location i went to was throwing away the posters so uhm... in a rather shameful act i took it from the trash. look how beautiful it is though once i brought it back to its uncrumpled glory! will definitely be putting this on display with the rest of my collection once im able to :]

my first ever 2 stage, and first time seeing cyberamics (or anything other than studio c, really). they are a MESS. but i loved it so much.
not only that, but the store was completely empty, and the volume wasn’t very high at all. very, very quiet. EXTREMELY eerie with these broken down boys. like i said though... i loved every second.
would def love to see a properly working location someday though (*^▽^*)

I am pretty dissapointed that cec supports autism speaks :(

You know. As an autistic lifelong cec fan, I’ve been pondering this for a while (or at least since the news came out that they’re still supporting that organization). I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s totally okay to be disappointed about all this, it’s really a horrible situation, but I’m not at all surprised.
See: as much as cec pushes their creative side, they’re still a corporation. A struggling corporation with a sour reputation at that. Not to trivialize or excuse this or anything, of course, But it’s something to note when considering why they’re in no hurry to decline partnership offers from any child friendly organizations. ESPECIALLY an organization like autism speaks. Think about it! How many people do you think are aware of autism speaks’ bigotry? Outside of tumblr, the designated site for autistic weirdos like myself? I was going to argue in favor of people who work with autistic patients (special needs teachers, therapists, etc) but even then public support comes partially from a place of ridicule. The general public does not know that the idea of finding a “cure” for autism is something horrible and offensive. They see an altered state of the mind and want to, well, “fix” it. It’s similar to how people treat several other stigmatized mental conditions.
Corporations like cec are sort of banking on this perception of autism. It’s all entirely performative. Cec gets another business partner while they’re in somewhat of a crucial state. The public assumes cec is Helping people with autism. It’s a cycle, one that lifts their reputation in the eyes of those who think lowly of the company and rakes in more visits. And, hey, not to jump ship here- but you know what’s real ironic about all of this?
Cec is aware that a good chunk of their older fans are autistic. They see the comments, they see the outrage, they are well aware of autism speaks’ reputation in the autistic community. They do not care. At all. As long as they get a few sympathy bucks from the parents of small children with autism, they’re satisfied. They’ve actively deleted comments criticizing autism speaks and thrown copy-paste supportive responses under the posts they can’t remove themselves.
Remember to support your creatives (voice actors, character artists, graphic designers, local techs, etc etc) and that corporations are not your friend. A company is a company, and that’s the unfortunate reality.
#this is it ya#generally just ... dont blame regular ass staff that have no power#this is all higher up stuff
