D.A.T.E

D.A.T.E. is simply the acronym of the names of the four young founders of the project. In 2005, the four of them met up in London and there, feeling unsatisfied by their jobs, decided to throw themselves into the ambitious project of creating their own range of sneakers. Picking up old machinery here and there, they created a crude and impromptu workshop in Emi's garage and met there every evening after work - obviously not being able to give up their day jobs. Thanks to their craftsman's feel, the first D.A.T.E. charmed the public and sold more than 8,000 pairs in just three days. It was a success! D.A.T.E. became the real news of the season.

MEET THE DESIGNER
KIBOO, est 2016
Founded in 2016 in Berlin. Kiboo was created for those who want to stand out and still enjoy the coziness of knitted clothes.
Where are you from?
I‘m from Italy, after my fashion studies in Milan I moved to Berlin in 2010.
Can you take us back to the moment your love for designing knitwear began? I learned to knit as a child, like many others, from my mother and grandmas and took a class as well during my studies. Afterwards I quite forgot about it for a while and it wasn‘t until a few years ago that I picked up the needles again by chance and haven’t put them down ever since. I realized how incredibily creative this craft can actually be. Knitting combines my love for designing textures and mixing colours plus the variety of materials to work with makes the possibilities endless.

What would you consider to be the statement pieces from your collection? From this winter accessories collection my favourite is definetly the NOVA scarf. I knit each of them by hand, witch is my favourite thing to do, they’re made out of a really high quality peruvian alpaca yarn, and they’re such bold pieces to wear, yet classy and cosy.
An artist you admire/ we should follow? JM Robert, an incredible painter from Lyon.
What do you do for fun? Catch up with family and friends mostly, and traveling as often as I can.
What was the last song that got stuck in your head? “Time is on my side“, by The Rolling Stones. ________________________________________________________________

MEET THE DESIGNER
Blaucraut, est 2015
BLAUCRAUT is an elegant, cool and casual fashion label. All garments from the collection are 100% handmade in Berlin. Every thoughtful piece is made from high-quality selected materials, that allows the wearer to feel comfortable in the designs.
In what year was your brand founded? I am working as an independent fashion designer since 2007, creating textile sculptures on the body. I had been studying painting and sculpture at the Facultad de Bellas Artes in Madrid and treated fashion design as a medium to visualize my statements. Then I wanted to develop a casual, elegant line which is really wearable in everyday life. So I founded Blaucraut. That was 2015.
Where are you from? I was born in Frankfurt am Main, grew up in Bremen and lived 8 years in Hamburg before I moved to Berlin in 2013, where my family on the paternal side is from. I used to visit the city several times each year since I was a child, so it feels kind of home. My mother comes from Romania and immigrated with her family to Germany during the cold war. I had been moving so many times already that I stopped counting.

What do you do for fun? I am a passionate hobby musician and made music all my life. Right now I am the drummer and singer of the band KRÄLFE (@Tumbleweed Records), with which we ́re working on the third album at the moment.
If you could describe your designs as an emotion, what would it be? The Blaucraut designs are cooptation shields. They shelter your intimacy and privacy in a time that forces individuals to transform into brands.
What was the last song that got stuck in your head? Hihihi...my own one: „Bct 24“ https://vimeo.com/264767504
Secret: I made ALL the clothes in that video.
Favorite material to work with? Fine Italian virgin wool.

MEET THE DESIGNER
XUXAXUXA, est 2015 Xuxa’s jewelry collection is inspired by the beautiful details of nature. The bronze and silver jewelry pieces are handmade, which gives every piece a unique look and feel.
Where are you from?
I’m from Hungary, from a little town called Hajdúszoboszló.
If you could describe your designs as an emotion, what would it be? It’s just two words: love and melancholia.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head? I’m a mother of two toddlers, so I’m often inspired by nursery rhymes. They’re really catchy. Apart from nursery rhymes it’s probably “Tuyo” by Rodrigo Amarante.
Where do you get your inspiration? I lived in Argentina for six years, so of course the country influenced my collection a lot and will surely inspire me in the future. The generous and vast countryside, Patagonia’s endless beauty and the North with its incredible paths that lead you to the most beautiful places inspired me. Nature is definitely a huge inspiration.
