The Gayest Cartoon that Came Out this Year
This year was pretty gay for cartoon such asĀ
Two villains getting togetherĀ
Love saved the universeĀ
and a witch being a gay distasterĀ
But above all else, thereās one cartoon thatās really gay and that is Adventure Time: Distant LandsĀ āObsidanā. That special went all out like no subtext, no censorship nor anything, it went on full on text than any other cartoon Iāve ever watchedĀ
We get to see Princess Bubblegum going to one of Marcelineās concert and was given her significant rock shirt that became her most prized possession in the seriesĀ
Marceline and Princess Bubblegum break-up for the first time and left them with a broken heartĀ
Living together and having a domestic lifeĀ
Princess Bubblegum calling Marceline her vampire girlfriendĀ
A gay songĀ
Multiple ON-SCREEN kissesĀ
Telling she loves herĀ
They got a slow danceĀ
Unlike most cartoons, Adventure Time: Distant LandsĀ āObsidianā amp up the gay to 11. It didnāt held backĀ and this special shows how much Marcy and Bonnie are in love with another. They brought the break-up, the shirt, the dance,Ā the kiss, and a domestic life together. This special gotta be most gayest thing Iāve ever seen in a long in cartoon history.Ā

Saturday Study Tips
1.) Sleep in! Ā I often make the mistake of thinking I need to pop up at the crack of dawn to get things done on Saturday, when in reality I need to recharge my batteries from grinding all week. Ā Be good to yourself, and youāll be more productive in the long run.
2.) Set a time to start studying and stick to it. Ā If you set your alarm to sleep in until 10:30, give yourself a couple of hours to wake up, get dressed, eat, and drink coffee. Ā Whenever your set study time rolls around, be ready to rock and roll!
3.) Pack all of the essentials. Ā The #1 killer of a good study session is not having everything that you needāand I donāt just mean academic materials! Ā Hereās a little list of what I like to pack:
ā Coffee ā Water bottle ā Enough healthy food to last me the length of time I plan to study (this is hugely important!) ā Earbuds ā A sweatshirt or jacket (another important one!) ā Phone charger + laptop charger ā Gum or mints ā Ponytail holder + bobby pins ā Phone, laptop, textbooks, notebooks, pens, highlighters ā Agenda
4.) Choose a study location that is best suited for you. Ā Everyone is differentāfor me, I sometimes have a hard time focusing in the library because itās too quiet/can feel isolating! Ā For casual studying, I love places like Barnes & Noble or Starbucks because the buzz and bustle is energizing but also white noise I can tune out in the background. Ā When I need to get serious, the library/a study room is the better option.
5.) Find a good playlist to help you get in the zone. Ā I personally cannot listen to anything with lyrics, because I find myself focusing more on the words of the song and less on what Iām studying! Ā There are great playlists on Youtube that are designed to facilitate studying and focus; search for āalpha wave studying music.ā Ā I also enjoy listening to seasonal instrumental Pandora stations, like bluegrass in the fall and classical Christmas in the winter.
6.) Turn. Off. Your. Internet. Ā Sign. Out. Of. All. Apps. Ā This is the hardest part of studying for me and a terrible habit I am striving to kick. Ā The impulse to check Facebook or Instagram or Tumblr is almost a reflex for most of us, so I find that turning off my internet on my laptop and signing out of my apps on my phone helps tremendously. Ā Set small goals for yourself that will exercise and strengthen your self-control like a muscle. Ā For example,Ā āI will complete two reading assignments and then have 5-10 minutes to check social media before starting my next assignment.ā Ā It sounds pathetic, but compulsively checking social media is a learned behavior that you have to force yourself to unlearn in order to be truly productive. Ā Thereās an app for MacBooks calledĀ āSelfControlā that allows you to block certain websites for a set amount of time. Ā I strongly recommend it!
7.) Set realistic goals and take breaks. Ā The clock is your friend, not your enemy! Ā I work best in about 50-minute increments before I need a tiny 5-10 minute break. Ā During a regular study session, I usually canāt work for more than 3 hours before needing a larger break. Ā Exercising is always my go-to. Ā Get outside, breathe some fresh air, and let your body move. Ā It also helps to set a cap on your studying; I often pick a time I want to be totally finished for the day and focus my energy toward meeting that goal.
8.) Remember that constant studying is not healthy and perfect/imperfect grades do not define you. Ā You are more than your perceived academic abilities. Ā Working hard to achieve success is important but notĀ everything. Ā There is a beautiful world out there beyond your desk. Ā Donāt be afraid to take time off to explore it :)

Reading in your target language just got so much easier
This cool little website, called readlang, allows you to upload your book, in your target language, from epub form into their website, right? And you just read your book from there. When you donāt know a word, what do you do? Do you go to google dot com and type in that word? Nope. You fucking click it. And it tells you the word.Ā
I am currently reading the 100 (this is the book that the tv show came from) and I can already tell reading this way is so much easier. I highly suggest making an account. Itās free, and works for more than 80 languages!

OneNote digital bullet journal x planner masterpost
So, before this university year started I realized that Passion Planner and my last year simple and mini bullet-journal donāt meet my requirements, so I needed something new. I love watching others bullet journals and planners, which are colourful and creative, and nice-looking. But I just donāt find it convenient, logical and useful - to spend so much money and time on a notebook (just my opinion, guys, relax). Likeā¦what for?
AND THEN IāVE SEEN THE LIGHT e.g. HAD AN IDEA TO CREATE A DIGITAL BULLET JOURNAL.
This way you can save money and spend less time. And you can see it whenever you want. And donāt carry additional weight with you (which, if youāre like me and have lots of heavy stuff with you every day, is a real pro)
Iām using a netbook and usually carry it around with me to work on + Iāve got all books for classes there (and weāve lots of those), so my choice landed on OneNote app. I think many of you are used to see it only as a note-taking app, for Cornwellās system for example, but, in fact, it has so many great options to act as a planner or a journal, that I was AMAZED not to find anyone using it this way.
But enough talking, letās see how it looks in practice!
Here you can see different sections/tabs and pages of a chosen tab. I use them for my everyday needs, like mood diary and recovery challenge; checking my students progresses, tasks and what weāve learned; the tab for my coursework contains a calendar, research plan, some info and notes; and notebook is for my french philology when I need to work with pdf files and highlight something in the text or write over it. Anyways, the one that interests us is bullet journal.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā This is how my month of October looks like. I have a small calendar on the top left and the description of important/highlighted dates below it. Then, opposing calendar, there areĀ my monthly goals. In the center there are books I need and want to read, tv series/movies/anime I plan to watch. And a bunch of pics to add the colour. (Pay attention to the to-do squares and keep them in mind, weāll come back to them later!)
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā This is how first week of October looked like. Pretty simple and minimalistic. I mostly tracked what I need to do on a certain day and some chores. And it was the week when I decided to differentiate symbols.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā My tags are pretty simple and I donāt always use them all, mostly first 12 (well, I use almost all of them, whatever), but itās nice knowing Iāll have from what to choose if I ever need to.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Then thereās food log for each week. Pretty simple and on a A5 page size. (fasting was due to the loss of the appetite for 4 days because of my depression)
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā And monthly habit tracker. As you can see, I failed the drawing one completely. I may change them from time to time, though sport, self-care (or skin care), planning and water trackers are always with me. I love keeping them colour-coded.
So, this is how I use OneNote. Iām still using my Passion Planner and some phone apps to keep on track. I hope youāve found this post useful and enjoyed the walkthrough my digital bullet journal. If you decide to create your own, tag me. Iād love to see them!

No to Low Stress College Study Strategy
I started using this study method my 2nd month of college, when I realized that it was better for study-life balance and my emotional wellbeing. It makes me feel productive and alert all day, and gives me plenty of free time to pursue hobbies, clubs, and personal interests. It sounds kind of hardcore at first, but itās seriously wonderful if you give it a try! Hereās the game plan:
After the first few days of the semester, I sit down with all of the syllabi from all of my classes and write down every single assignment for the rest of the semester into my planner. Include exams, readings, lab report due dates, worksheets, essays, etc. Everything.
Every weekend, I set aside however much time I need to knock out every single assignment for the upcoming week that is possible to do in advance. I do my textbook readings, textbook practice problems, my humanities readings, short essays or write-ups to accompany those humanities readings, etc.
Even though Iām doing more work, I generally spend the same amount of time in the library as my friends who only do their work for Monday over the weekend. This is because ifĀ you donāt commit to doing a large number of assignments, you tend to spend a lot more time on minor assignments than is truly necessary - do I really need to spend 3 hours on this 1-page essay for my English class if itās only graded on a 10 point scale? Couldnāt I finish this in 1 hour and then devote more time to the rest of the readings I need to do for that class this week?
I still have enough time to sleep in, have long lunch breaks, go the gym, go to parties in the evening, etc.
You can do this, no matter your workload.Ā I am a pre-med science major taking 20 credits (max course load) a semester, with two labs, and I can get it done. My roommate is an English major with heavy novel reading assignments and she can get it done. (Disclaimer: this mostly applies to undergraduates.)
Research papers and midterm exam studying generally get their own day separate from homework assignments. I like writing essays in 1 or 2 sittings, but if you like to spread it out just break up the essay into manageable pieces and do it over multiple weekends, or do the pieces between classes (see next bullet point).
After blasting through most of my assignments over the weekend, during the week I generally only have to do busy-work that is assigned at the end of classes and continue studying for midterms that week. I easily finish these assignments in the breaks between classes during the day.
With this strategy, I always complete all of my homework well before dinnertime, and often have days when I donāt have any assignments to do. I use this free time for club meetings, hanging out with friends, going to the gym, marathoning Netflix, pursuing hobbies, working a job, whatever.
I also use this extra time to be able to study for exams much more effectively - when you donāt have busywork assignments floating in the back of your mind, it is much easier to focus. You will study more productively and effectively, and with much less stress. Exams are worth way more of your grade than the homework assignments you blast through each weekend, so itās best to be able to focus exclusively on them Monday - Friday.
The best part about this strategy is that your workload is heavy on Sunday and sometimes Saturday, but you get to relax Monday - Friday. You basically have a 5 day weekend every week, assuming you enjoy going to class.
If anyone also uses this method, Iād love to hear from you or hear your variants/study suggestions! If anyone tries out this method for 1 or 2 weeks and finds that it works for them, Iād love to hear about it! If you try it and hate it with a fiery burning passion and loathe me for even suggesting it, Iād love to hear about it!
I believe in you!<3 No matter what study method you choose to use, just do your best and exceed your own expectations.
