PhD Day 279: I have to submit my State of the Art today... It's not a matter of setting a word goal to reach (I have more pages than necessary already), my problem integrating the three massive blocks of literature I have into a coherent text. Part one I'm happy with, part 2 needs nuance. Part 3 is a mess full of bullet points and incoherent notes.

Hello lovely jublies! Exams are in around 3 months, and I am beginning to plan

If anyone has any suggestions I am willing and open to any and all!

I have also gotten my mock results back, and although they were not ideal, I didn’t get anything below a 6, and I mostly got 7s and above ( a six is equivalent to a B and 7 is an A) however there is always room for improvement

On a personal note, I’m turning 16 in 2 days!! And I am extremely excited and would love to share how honestly great full I am to be surrounded by such a supportive and loving community. 🤍

03.12.25 // a peaceful morning study session at an old library of arts and music…

i happened to stumble upon a small, privately-owned library while looking for parking on my way to picking up a pre-lecture coffee. i felt inexplicably drawn to the place from its exterior alone, and when i noticed they were selling books out front, i was completely convinced to go and browse.

i was soon exploring the place, eventually finding a corner where i could tuck myself away and begin studying. it’s such a gorgeous library, with such an unparalleled sense of peace brought about just by soaking in the environment there; i’ll definitely be returning.

I said I’m behind on my reading and I still am 😭

Also, I am worried for my exams but since last three days, there’s a strange excitement in me and I’m just immersing myself in that.

Cuz……my convocation’s here!

I spent two days finalising a dress, actually finalised two but I’m kinda still not satisfied (girl problems 😁)…..anyhow, I’ll most likely go shopping again today (for some accessories) so that’s why I’m studying right now.

Completed two bigger chapters and now 5 chapters are left, out of which 3 are small abd easy as it’s just concepts in there which I remember from my classes but the other 2 have like a lot of theory and terms to learn (and I like learning but somehow, I just can’t get myself to sit and learn these days)

I know it’s the convocation fever which I did not have before, like I wasn’t even excited for it until I talked to my friends and their energy rubbed off on me ✨

Anyhow, I had another tension on my mind regarding extension of my recorded lectures but the authorised person refused and asked for payment (they changed their business model in between and as I had joined earlier, I paid for the previous model and it gave us lectures on basis of hours but now it’s days and apparently my days are already over) I asked if they can make an exception cuz I’m not going to pay extra for what I’ve already paid before… however, they said it’s all automated now and unless you pay, your account cannot be extended.

And it’s not a small amount as well.

Also, in this era of recordings and online teaching, I guess I had become too dependent on it, looking at recorded lectures for every other doubt I had, watching them again and again when I remember I wasn’t like this before. Even if a class was missed, I could easily cope up with next lectures by reading textbooks, asking my friends…it wasn’t a big deal.

And it shouldn’t be a big deal now as well.

I was immensely stressed this past week until yesterday I came to this realisation and it finally settled in.

That I don’t have to be dependent on teachers all the time.

I can do it on my own, just as I did before and it’s going to be fine.

(I really hope it would be)And it struck even more cuz my friend got her extension but it was in January and it’s quite apparent they added payment after Jan as she didn’t have to pay for it.

Guess, I just went at a wrong time.

So that was my long monologue.

(I really hope when I clear my exams with amazing results 🤞I can feel happy with my decision here)

And although I said I’m fine with it, deep down, it’s still stressing me a lot kinda and I can feel it even now while I’m writing so I just gonna back to studying and pray that I make it, that I clear my exams and finally make my parents proud.

• I had my appointment to get my viola first thing in the morning [12pm lol]. They moved to a new location and it’s so so pretty. The first two pictures are from there.

• Since I was in the area, I stopped by at my usual cafe to study. Technical Mechanics again. My progress is so slow and I need to do something about that. But at least I’ve finished the first lecture.

• The blueberry muffin I got was so bad. Terribly dry.

• Recently found out my professor, as in thesis supervisor professor, is retiring this year💀💀💀. Probably before I finish mine lmao.

🌳: 2hrs 39mins.

📖: Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson. I read maybe 15 pages, which is very cute and disciplined.

☀️: So so excited about the viola. The walk to get it was so pretty and the weather was great.
