guide to sleep for students
Tumblr media
Hi all, sleep is very important to students like us. Sleep can help us perform better, decrease the chance of getting sick and lower the risk of obesity. On the other hand, if you have sleep deprivation, you are likely to be poor-coordinated and lose focus. Here are some tips to get better sleep as a student.
1. Limit naps. If you want to take a nap, make sure to take it before 4 P.M and it should be no more than 30 mins. The best time to take a nap is from 12 to 1 PM.
2. Avoid afternoon caffeine. Caffeine can impact sleep for up to eight hours after students drink it because it increases brain wave activity. If you are able to fall asleep, it would not be a deep sleep.
3. Shut off electronic devices before bed. The blue light from technology makes our brain thinking that it’s day time, which results in difficulties falling asleep.
4. Don’t fall asleep with the TV on. As programs change or go in and out of commercials, there are variations in audio, which affects your sleep quality.
5. Have a regular sleep schedule. Repeat your sleep schedule over and over until it becomes a regularity then stick to it.
6. Have a comfortable environment. Have a right room temperature, a quiet place and a comfortable to sleep in. Make sure to separate studying from the bed.
7. Practice meditation. Meditation would calm the anxiety and mind so students can get better sleep at night without worries.
8. Exercise. Exercise would make the whole body feel tired and you would fall asleep right away.

Wake up without feeling tired
Tumblr media
1. Follow your sleep pattern. If you stick to time go to bed and wake up without the alarm, you would not feel tired.
2. Try to get enough sleep as much as possible (from 7 to 9 hours of sleep for teenagers)
3. Sleep hygiene. Read a book, take a bath, or listen to some music. And at all costs, stay away from screens. Good hygiene would create a better and higher quality of sleep for a restful night!
4. Get sunlight in the morning. Taking a walk under the morning sun would be good for your mood.
5. Have breakfast. Absorb energy right in the morning would make your body feel refreshed.
6. Choose a good alarm song. If you are going to have an alarm the next day, make sure the sound would be natural to wake up.

dealing with impostor syndrome
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Growing up with my Asian parents who have very high expectations, I always feel like I never work hard enough. Impostor syndrome might not sound serious but it could lead to a lack in confidence and self-esteem. Talk kindly and don’t sabotage yourself when you make mistakes. Don’t let down your success and say that it is luck. ❤️

2. Magoosh
SAT is not the only test prep program on this website, it offers a wide range to ACT to IELTS. One thing I really like about this website is that it creates a study plan for you with exercises and video resources, no matter if you are going to take the SAT in 2 months, 1 month or even one week.

This website offers mostly SAT Math resources such as facts and formulas cheat sheet, strategies, math vocabulary, past practice test and so much more. It also has resources for SAT Subject Physics and SAT Subject Math.
