#armitaabbasi " was arrested in her hometown of Karaj, just west of Tehran, nearly a month after the onset of the demonstrations. On October 17, Abbasi was rushed to the Imam Ali hospital in Karaj, accompanied by plainclothes
officers, according to leaks from that hospital. Her head had been shaved and she was shaking violently. In the accounts, the medical staff attending to her spoke of the horror they felt when they saw evidence of brutal rape."
In the city of Ardabil, Iran, security forces of the Islamic Republic attacked a school and 7 students were seriously injured. The students were taken to the hospital, but unfortunately one of them died due to internal bleeding.
A part of Evin's roof is falling. The building of Evin prison was built in 1972 (50 years ago) and it can easily collapse due to fire.Yadgar highway is closed to normal cars and special units are going to Evin. The fire is spreading rapidly . There is no fire engine near Evin and It is not allowed There is a continuous sound of bullets and sirens The clashes started at 9 o'clock .Be Evin's voice, I beg you, nothing is more important than Evin right now.
EvinPrison is no ordinary prison. Many of Iran’s best & brightest have spent long stretches confined there, where brave women & men are denied their basic rights for speaking truth to power. The regime is responsible for what happens to those inside right now.
Huge fires and shootings going on at Evin prison in Tehran RIGHT NOW. Evin is where the Islamic Republic holds many political prisoners. We believe a huge massacre is happening. Please ACT! BE OUR VOICE!
imagine your uber/takeout app stealing and handing away your personal data to the police so they can locate and arrest you all cause you engaged in a peaceful protest, and yet every EVERY mobility service app in Iran is doing this like it’s nothing
Honestly what’s happening in Iran can be an excellent case study on what social media platforms can achieve in a revolution or how they can be used as a tool of suppression.
I've always felt like if someone has a platform they should use it right. Personally there are like three other people who might listen to me or pay enough attention to what i have to say for me to get my voice out there. The same can't be said about influencers. I'm talking about authors, booktubers, youtubers, tiktokers, etc.
If you don't know what's happening in Iran you just need to do a quik search and you'll see it all over twitter. I mean the hashtag مهسا_امینی (MahsaAmini) has over 310 million tweets. It has the record for the most hashtags in internet history.
I've seen many people talk about their heritage on the internet. Saying you're proud to be this and that but never showing support to your people SPECIALLY when it has no consequences for you is the epitome of all talk and no walk.
I follow persian authors and booktubers. These content creators have talked about being persian and liking when they see themselves in media but now that we need their voice they're silent (I'm putting the word need very lightly). What does that make them?
Honestly unless a justified statement comes out from them i'm going to simply assume they were riding the diversity wagon.
People are being killed here. Genocide is happening. They're shooting people. They're raping children. And yet these "proud persians" are sitting there, unaffected. I am so tired of the internet honestly
