Thank you EVERYONE who took the time to wish me a Happy Birthday forbthe 9th... I took your advice and had an amazing weekend, full of my favourite things... Yesterday as part of @squirrelcensus group we did a three hour interview, walk n talk, squirrel spot in CPark for a TV documentary that will air next year. I don’t know any details yet, but this dear man John Wolfe lost his battle very recently I just found out. Us squirrel folk possibly only know him in charming photos like this where he and 🐿Cocoa and many many friends entertained us over many many pics stories and videos . I’m utterly gutted to hear of his passing. I’d only just sent him a card to say I hope he “was feeling better after a recent sickness” and selfishly hope that please let him have seen it so he KNEW, had NO doubt he was loved by our community and by me. NR Peanut 🐿, was found as a pinkie raised by a human pinkie and then legally allowed to live her best life with Fourwands NonProf. Rehabber for the last wonderful 4 years. One of my fave days, inside watching a MARS Landing whilst the wether outside is mars like . Managed to track down the exact area / crater on my globe and big map. Almost on the opposite side to the big Valles Marineris and Olympus Mons and the first rover Soujourner . #JaniceAbleWeMissYou 🐿#squirrelappreciationday 💜2 years ago this morning, January 21st 2019, I lost a very dear friend and our odd ‘squirrel universe’ a great ally, supporter and character. 😏 To know Janice was to know. Her. She left nothing on the field. You didn’t have to guess. You couldn’t walk away. Even when she’d call me late at night to excoriate me about this or that, there was always an odd reason, she got mad one of my lobsters had died and I didn’t tell her(🙄) , when she called I listened thinking that perhaps I was helping her in some way as she had it tough in some years, but I was wrong. I came to understand i picked up and took it to help myself. She had a way of making you see things without that selfish perhaps arrogant ( in my case) way of seeing things. I’ve been rubbish at Family, gods know, but Janice taught me to love . Unselfishly. Just like those dam squirrilues do too. Odd she left us on ‘their day’... 😉🐿💜 So , as I will every year it lasts I’ll light my memorial candle and think of my dearest friend who didn’t so much loose her battle with cancer but just got tired of screaming at it. #FuckCancer Miss you J.💜🙏🌈 Thanks for candle Muse. #RIPJohnLeCarré . It’s a bleak wet, cold, frizzy, sleety snow day here in NYC. Can’t think of a better marathon than the 11/10 Tinker,Tailer ... or the equally BRILLIANT #APerfectSpy There aren’t many movies or books I genuinely looked forwards too or jumped on when available m, but Le Carré’s were definitely in both categories. If you have never seen TTSS ( a slow burn masterclass of plot, acting and subtlety) do your self a favor and catch the original mini series ( the film adap. Is wonderful too) A Perfect Spy just as amazing if you love the minutia and intricate detailing of a story with script that shines ( and based actually on LeCareés life ) Anyhoo.....Enjoy.
