WATCH: We humans aren’t the only ones who like to dance to the soothing sounds of the violin. Pairi Daiza zoo in Belgium invited violinists to rehearse in front of these elephants.

The world is ending,  and I still can’t say anything.  I still don’t know where you are,  I’m probably not on your mind.
The world is ending,  I still love you,  I still say nothing.

50 Oscar Wilde Quotes
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.
I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.
To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.
You can never be overdressed or over-educated.
Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.
Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood.
A good friend will always stab you in the front.
I don’t want to go to heaven. None of my friends are there.
Never love anyone who treats you like you’re ordinary.
Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future.
I am not young enough to know everything.
A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it.
Experience is merely the name men gave to their mistakes.
Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power.
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.
I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.
I can resist anything except temptation.
Quotation is a serviceable substitute for wit.
It is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious.
Who, being loved, is poor?
I have nothing to declare except my genius.
Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.
A man’s face is his autobiography. A woman’s face is her work of fiction.
Anybody can sympathise with the sufferings of a friend, but it requires a very fine nature to sympathise with a friend’s success.
Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about.
When one is in love, one always begins by deceiving one’s self, and one always ends by deceiving others. That is what the world calls a romance.
Behind every exquisite thing that existed, there was something tragic.
A bore is someone who deprives you of solitude without providing you with company.
There are only two kinds of people who are really fascinating: people who know absolutely everything, and people who know absolutely nothing.
Everything in moderation, including moderation.
Society often forgives the criminal; it never forgives the dreamer. There are moments when one has to choose between living one’s own life, fully, entirely, completely-or dragging out some false, shallow, degrading existence that the world in its hypocrisy demands.
Nothing can cure the soul but the senses, just as nothing can cure the senses but the soul.
Men always want to be a woman’s first love. That is their clumsy vanity. We women have a more subtle instinct about these things. What (women) like is to be a man’s last romance.
Paradoxically though it may seem, it is none the less true that life imitates art far more than art imitates life.
An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all.
I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an ass of yourself.
The nicest feeling in the world is to do a good deed anonymously-and have somebody find out.
One should never trust a woman who tells one her real age. A woman who would tell one that would tell one anything.
Life is too short to learn German.
Laughter is not at all a bad beginning for a friendship, and it is by far the best ending for one.
I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself.
Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter.
We live in an age when unnecessary things are our only necessities.
To define is to limit.
We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.

“Work occupies much of our time. Doing work we hate assaults our self-esteem and self-confidence. Yet most workers cannot do the work they love. But we can all enhance our capacity to live purposely by learning how to experience satisfaction in whatever work we do. We find that satisfaction by giving any job total commitment. When I had a teaching job I hated (the kind of job where you long to be sick so you have an excuse for not going to work), the only way I could ease the severity of my pain was to give my absolute best. This strategy enabled me to live purposely. Doing a job well, even if we do not enjoy what we are doing, means that we leave it with a feeling of well-being, our self-esteem intact. That self-esteem aids us when we go in search of a job that can be more fulfilling.”

A small hehe
So my roommate recounted to me a Secret Santa story at his workplace from last year.
His manager had received a potted plant from his Secret Santa, which was a bit of a cheap gift (not my opinion), according to the standards of the big bank he worked at.
On leaving his work at the end of the day, the security guys hold him up saying, "Please sir, you cannot take office property back home."

Grief, more grief and understanding
Why is it so hard to move on, even when you have a nagging feeling that you must?
From the start of this year, I was (am?,dont really have a fucking clue at this point, mate) in love with a beautiful woman. She seemed perfect. And then she was. I was feeling love so deep after a very very long time. But she was committed to someone else before I met her (in the beginning, there were fractures in their relationship). It seemed for a time that she liked me too. She found me interesting. She found out nearly everything about me, through our conversations.
We spent a fair bit of time together, doing things most close friends would do. She even went out with me for drinks and dancing on the night of my birthday, and for her company on that night, I will forever be grateful. When she was slightly inebriated, she touched my chest as we talked outside the bar. That really fucked me up. I wish I didn't get that hope.
But from time to time, while being with her, I would start sulking, not being able to ignore the fact that nothing could possibly happen. She would ask me why I was so and I could never give her a straight answer. Repeated instances of this started to make her jaded towards me.
I think, somewhere in her mind, she had a thought that maybe I could be her someone.
But today, I had a text conversation with her that mostly showed that she wanted to keep a constant distance. And I knew this was coming but I'm crestfallen, heartbroken.
She is only going to get further away from me from now on and I'm trying to accept it and move on. That's what I have to resolve to do Henceforth.
No, I can't text her if I miss her, even if it has been a really long time since we've texted each other.
No, I can't wallow in my grief sitting on my bed thinking in counterfactuals, thinking that if I'd said this instead of that things would be better.
No, I can't sit stunned after I wake up in the morning, realizing that the first waking thought I had was about her. I will get up and hustle to get exercise and get through my day.
Moving on ...:)
