His sudden attitude took Aria back as he closed the door and invited himself inside. Perhaps it was just out of habit, she didn't plan on turning him away anyway, but there was still a tenseness in the air now.

"Where? I've been working-- traveling," she started to defend herself, tightening her robe as she stepped back from the door to walk towards the kitchen. She still needed to make some food, if only to keep her busy and avoid his angry eyes, "I told you I had a shoot in Paris this week. They wanted to get it done today, so that's where I've been."

She stopped by the counter as he followed her, continuing to question and even starting to berate her. It was only then that she realized just what he was talking about about. She paused, slowly turning back to face him, "The party ... That was tonight."

It wasn't a question, just an acknowledgement of a mistake she had clearly made. She knew what the date was, but the one he had told her didn't seem to line up. Or at least... That's what her manager had told her, "I thought that was tomorrow night. That's why I was so determined to do everything today. Elijah--" she stepped closer to him, reaching out to touch his arm, hoping to give some reassurance.

Exhausting did not even begin to describe the way Aria felt. One long work day dragged directly into the next as she had to fly across the pond twice in 24 hours. Rare opportunity photoshoots didn't come often and she couldn't afford to pass up on one that would help launch her career even further than she imagined. She hadn't eaten much in that time (save for a few small snacks her manager forced on her) and she definitely hadn't slept. If she was completely honest, she wasn't even sure what day it was.

Once she stepped out of the showed, she slipped into a black silk robe, a gift from her boyfriend. At least thats how the public saw them. For the cameras, she and Elijah were perfect and happy, the next Bragelina sure. But, in reality, they were far from lovers. Aria couldn't even be sure they were good friends, but... She hoped. After all the time they'd spent together, talking about their lives and what they like, she expected they must have been a little close.

In the beginning they had really tried, doing all of the typical romantic gestures and even sleeping together a few times. But that spark just wasn't there. It wasn't until they had a real heart to heart a couple months in that they felt comfortable with their situation. It was odd, and the public were sure to catch on at some point. But, it worked for them. For the most part anyway.

Aria made sure her phone was charging before she moved out to her little kitchen for something light. There was sure to be something she could make easy enough before crashing into her bed.

Before getting too far into the process, she heard her door buzz. A visitor this time of night? She almost didn't want to answer but something in her was pushing her to at least see who it was.

"Hello?" She replied as she moved to the console, holding the button down to speak. It was Elijah's voice that came through, she knew that tone very well. Even though it seemed... A little off. She didn't say anything else as she unlocked it for him. She walked over to the door to wait for him, leaving it cracked so he could come right in, reminding herself to give him the new key so he didn't have to knock.

She offered him a smile once he appeared in the doorway, stepping closer to greet him, "Hey, sorry -- I meant to call when I landed but--"
