         Slender fingers tug through the short strands of hair scattered along his forehead. His eyes clear; bare, naked to the world. The boy in the mirror is someone he does not recognise - or perhaps he is only recognisable from distant nightmares quickly covered up by those low voices and whispers from Glen. It seemed they had silenced for now. The room was quiet, save for Vincent’s - his friend? valet? how confusing - comment.

         “Mm,” barely audible, he turns his eyes away from the mirror. He would rather discard the glass altogether by his own hand lest he frighten himself with the sounds of shattering decor. “Something like that.”

⋆ | Lily’s sweet tooth was far from a secret. She had been hanging by the display of cakes and eclairs, waving at the guests while stuffing her face. The girl was quite the multitasker. There was one person she had been keeping an eye on, however. Leo had been engaged in countless conversations with people who would call him “Duke Baskerville” since the event began. Poor guy, she thought, scooping up a few cookies to last her the five-second walk across the ballroom floor.

“Hey Leo!” She called out, spilling cookie crumbs out of her mouth and onto the floor. “What’cha think of the food?”

          Honestly, the title of a Duke was more trouble than it was worth. All this flocking of so-called associates and fellow Dukedoms crowding around to get entail or propose ‘useful’ techniques to bring about a DELIGHTFUL outlook for the future of Sablier and Revielle was almost laughable; in Leo’s opinion. All he could do was smile, offer small nods and release an ounce of exaggerated sighs when Lily walked over. Ah, she had found the food. Leave it to those nobles to begin whispering about such a lack of etiquette. Leo smirked.            “I haven’t had the pleasure,” he beamed, purposefully dragging him out of the crowd of people. He hoped they were bewildered with his association with Lily; although they should have already gathered from their heritage that they were acquainted. Leo would prefer Lily’s company to snobby nobles any day. “You should show me where the good stuff is kept~ Any longer and I would have lost my appetite.”

Good afternoon, this is your Secret Santa; Merry Christmas! I hope that you're having a relaxing time c: Please be well and treat yourself kindly! I do have a present for you ;u; Although, I'm unable to submit it without revealing myself. I promise it's very cute, though! How does Leo feel about the holidays, by the way? Do you share the same sentiments as him towards it?

    && greetings ! i look forward to receiving your present on the day of the reveal and i hope you have had a great christmas - or even just a great time over the last few days.      in regards to leo, i believe he never truly held any great sentiment towards the holidays as a child. considering he lived in a peculiar little village where his mother was desperate to keep him shut in doors, there was very little love to share; although i believe his mother did try and perk her son up with small presents. but leo was perhaps too irritable as a child or simply ignored the gifts altogether.      joining the nightray dukedom would have no doubt changed his views. for one, where did the nightrays even find a tree that big?? and all those presents, woahhh. i think he got used to the thrill of the holidays by watching everyone else’s reactions; especially elliot’s (because no doubt that kid would lose his shit over christmas) and leo would be content with such a pleasant atmosphere in the house without having to look over his shoulder every five minutes. also, i think he would try his hardest to grant the children at the orphanage a wonderful christmas and encourage elliot to ask for a larger fund to spoil the children with; since leo had previously been a resident, he could easily point out what flaws needed a touch up.        leo has always been an outsider-looking-in type of child. so i think, as long as he can gain good vibes from those he cares for around him, then its a holiday worth celebrating! (so yes, i think in some aspects, we do share the same kind of views about the holidays)

Elliot’s sister:               

  It was one of those precious few dinner parties that Vanessa had been given permission to oversee; to keep up their family's reputation with other nobles, despite being the target of such brutal slaughter. So needless to say, behind a polite smile, the Duke's daughter was on edge and perhaps stricter than normal, striving for perfection in this dinner event. Evident from her harsh reprimand of Elliot's valet, whom she shouldn't have even allowed to staff this dinner. But unfortunately, due to the events regarding the infamous Head Hunter targeting members of the Nightray family, servants still employed ( or alive ) were sparse.

                  Vanessa deeply regretted her decision and made every effort to show her unhappiness after excusing herself from the room and dragging Leo behind her.  "You're only here because of the graces of Elliot, I hope you do know that. I wouldn't do anything more to screw up, if I were you."

         A smile inched its way onto his lips; perhaps it was a smile of boredom; perhaps amusement. Clearly such fury would only ignite in each and every Nightray’s heart -- he wondered if Vanessa was the cause for Elliot’s fury since they seemed to sync well, in Leo’s eyes.

          He knew that there should have been caution in his person, a reminder to inform him of his choice of words and how he addressed his dearest Elliot’s family. Naturally brining his young master any kind of shame was never intentional; alas, it could not be helped under such circumstances. He shook the woman’s hand off him - oh, how he hated to be touched - and rearranged his glasses whilst his smile grew irritable.

                      “Maybe if you didn’t like your wine so much,” a small mumble, “I wouldn’t have needed to reach for the bottle to serve, anyway.”

I have like three of these in here it’s great    

i: my family. I grew up in the gypsy life and I was homeschooled until we moved into a house and I went off to college. I don’t have many irl friends bc of my childhood; but I’ve always had my family and they mean everything to me        

ii: alex and root. they are the best of friends I could ever have. root and I have basically grown up together in these last four years, made promises and spent afternoons together talking about whatever came into our head and watching parks & rec. and alex, my beautiful gf, makes me happy witheverything she does. I hope I can come see you guys soon !        

iii: my books and when they get recognised. I’ve written stories almost all my life, it was all I had to express when we were living in our fields, or parked in a layby. I would make up fantasy tales in my head and now I’ve started posting stories online for people to read in hopes they get recognised. I spent the last series I wrote (the first real series I wrote) on seven books and it took me three years.    

 iv: my job. being a nurse is something I’ve always wanted to do, and now that I work in a hospital as an auxiliary nurse, I can keep climbing that ladder until I reach my end goal. it’s gonna take a few years, but I love doing it.        

v: fire emblem. I wish it was a lie but I started playing fire emblem in my dark ages, when I was around sixteen. I love every aspect, despite some of the games being very poor plot-wise. but the characters are inspirational  and I’ve fallen in love with them all. (also loz, bc that has been w/ me since forever)

        um this is a callout post for @stxrryeyys for being??? the sweetest boy i’ve ever dated. a true sweet pea. amazing. literally had me tearing up this morning, feeling like i was being showered in eloquent romantic affections, my true weakness. hes so patient and wonderful and ive been through so much this year, and it means so much that he’s stuck by my side and always assured me of my worth when i was at my lowest. i am so lucky to have his love in my life and to have his calming energy to balance out my chaotic energy. merry solstice my love <3
