"I am fine," her conviction lacking as she busied herself, walking to the kitchen to make herself a tea. Jess had always been way too emotional. God, how embarrassing. Her hands pressed into the counter, leaning her weight forward. A heavy exhale escaped her lips, collecting her thoughts. "It's fine Ethan, it's partially my own fault," she admitted, turning to look at him, with a small smile, her back leaning on the countertop. "Friends," Jess whispered, nodding her head to almost confirm it.

"You're clearly not okay," Ethan observed, knitting his eyebrows together. "I…" He faltered, not very skilled at navigating these kinds of emotions, but he tried his best. Jess had become something significant to him, though not in the way she meant. "I didn't mean to upset you. I don't mean that we are just hooking up; you've become like a friend to me."

"Psychotic is one word for it," He muttered heavily, scratching the nape of his neck. He never thought spending time with her would cause such chaos in her life. He just thought he was a hapless musician, who cared about Davis Brackstone? He felt frustrated that he was putting her in danger, that such a risk came from their bond. "Of course darlin'," the deep twang of his voice as he leant closer. "What would you like to do?" brushing his thumb across her bottom lip.

"It's psychotic," she stated bluntly, "it's bad enough I had to have a secret agent shadowing me throughout college." So much for adulting. Her eyebrows furrowed, unwilling to consider this might be their last time hanging out together. "Can we just have fun tonight?" she asked, her voice tinged with hope. He was, after all, an expert at making the most of long journeys and finding ways to entertain himself for hours on end.

Her fingers brushed through her blonde locks, her breath heavy as dark orbs skimmed between her eyes and lips. "Don't worry, I'm great at managing priorities," she whispered, drawing her fingers down from her hair to her jaw. Mya gasped at the tenderness of her Skylar's on her neck, drawing her closer, the blonde was intoxicating.

Despite their tangled past, Sky was ready to set it aside, especially since Mya was offering an irresistible deal. "Mya…" Skylar sighed softly, her fingertips reached for the end of the woman's shirt and leaned forward herself."If I distract you, who's going to do the cooking, huh?" she attempted to reason, but the longing to kiss Mya's neck was undeniable. Before she knew it, her lips were trailing up the woman's neck, giving in to the desire she had missed so much.

His words almost made her wince, dipping her head to bore holes into her toes because she felt… humiliated, “it’s fine,” she sighed, tucking her long tendrils behind her ear because nothing that came out of his mouth, she wanted to hear. She had clearly gotten attached and shouldn’t have. “I thought I was more than sex. Listen, maybe you should go." Jess wasn't sure how much more embarrassment she could take.

"Nothing has changed!" he pointed out as he exhaled sharply. "Jess, I thought you wanted to make breakfast! I never asked you to. Mya couldn't help but lean into Skylar. She would never give her the satisfaction of knowing it - but she was pretty sure she'd do anything for her. "You can show me how thankful you'll be," she winked. "I'll do your food and I'll do it for free," Mya mused.

Ignoring how the familiar nickname made her skin crawl, she was unable to ignore the smile and the way it made her knees go weak. "I'd be really thankful..." she managed, her breath still catching as Mya teased her, trying to keep her focus instead of sinking into her dark eyes. "Appetizers, anything easy to pass around?" At this point she would take anything. "I'll owe you, Mya."

Amaya leaned against the wall, her arms folded across her chest. Her brows creased in surprise. "What?" the shock coating her words. Taking a step towards Kai. 'Wh- Why didn't you call me? Reach out?" She wondered aloud "Where did you go to jail?" her voice dropped a tone, worrying if they sent her to the pit. "I'll always help you, K, come in," Amaya insisted, ushering her into her home.

The last time they had seen each other was right before Kai was deployed. After that, her entire life had been turned upside down. "You didn't hear?" She wasn't surprised, they tried to bury her along with the rest of the story, meaning they weren't publically anouncing that she had both been discharged and sent to jail. "I just got out of jail" She took a few steps and grabbed a beer. She wasn't here by accident. "I need your help, Amaya"
