Dandara foi uma guerreira negra no período colonial Brasileiro.
Uma heroína, Dandara dominava técnicas da capoeira e teria lutado ao lado de homens e mulheres nas muitas batalhas consequentes a ataques a Palmares.
Há relatos de que a vida de Dandara teve fim em fevereiro de 1694. Ela teria se jogado de uma pedreira ao abismo: decisão para não se entregar às forças militares que subjulgaram o quilombo, onde chegaram a viver 30 mil pessoas distribuídas em aldeias.
