okay now that we’ve a had couple lesbian blockbusters and milfs are having a romance moment, we need to bring back the manic pixie dream girl. she was never fuckin suited to fixing all the problems of some boring twenty year old everyman, but you know who could actually benefit from a quirky free-spirited blue haired girl with pronouns (she/they)? a newly divorced forty-something mom who’s trying to learn how to be herself for the first time in her life

I miss tv in the 2010s every day. You could put anything on air and get a 22 episode order and a five season run. Once Upon a Time was on and it basically spit in your face and told you that Olaf the snowman was Emma's second great uncle twice removed and you just accepted it. Golden age of the silver screen

Sam: It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something.
Frodo: What are we holding on to, Sam?
Sam : That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.

so you're telling me that House MD was right there with an ending where House fakes his death to spend the rest of Wilson's life as he dies of cancer with him after each of them have spent decades sabotaging and wrecking all of their other relationships with everyone but each other and you people still got invested in the lackluster queerbait subtext will they won't they in Sherlock BBC and considered it to be like, worth getting invested in because...Benedict Cumberbatch was hot to you or whatever?
#i was watching sherlock too don't get me wrong#obviously I am not free of sin#but people do talk about it as if it was a MASSIVE deal that the relationship was as queerbaity as it was and like#i don't consider House to be queerbait bc the subtext was clearly very intentional#but i was online before it was clear that sherlock was never going to follow through on any kind of queer relationship stuff and like......#.......the relationship in question was less compelling than 99% of similar shows LONG before the show's direction became clear#retrospectively what was all that even for jdkdhskhskdhdk#i too was 14 but
